A few pints of stout
I travelled off shore last weekend to a beautiful little island of the coast of Galway, called Inis Óir. It is the smallest of the Aran islands and has long been a favourites of mine.
I've been there many times over the years and it's always nice to head back and see the islanders. The population is only a few hundred, but that number swells during the Holiday season when many tourists, both national and international make the short trip over. You can go via a small plane from Inverin for €20 or you can go via ferry from Ros an Mhíl for €17. I prefer to fly both ways, but on this occasion we got the ferry over and the flight back, which was most enjoyable.
The weather was not great for sightseeing so it wasn't long until we found ourselves in the Óstan supping a few pints of Guinness.
The pints went down well and we had a good auld chat with the boss Tomás, who even bought some of us pints as he knows us at this stage after many years going to the island.
The weather even cleared after a while and we were able to have a stroll around the island.
We even found the stone clochán that a friend of mine helped to build on the island which was pretty cool. I was only talking to him about it recently.

Too kind bro! Thank you and I hope you've been keeping well.
A nice pint indeed! That clochain thing is cool
Ya it was pretty cool to see it, it's always great out on the island, with a much slower pace of life.
Nice one, thanks @brumest and @qurator 👌
I have been on the biggest one many many years ago. Awesome place!
And I do remember getting to Galway and I do remember the Island itself... but for the life of me I cant remember the ferry trip... It completely wiped out from my memory 🤣
Ah Inis Mór, very good, that's a great island too. So different to regular Ireland. It's like stepping back in time to simpler times and traditions.
Haha, maybe with good reason. Maybe a rough crossing that was best to forget about
Yea it was. I loved it! We took some trip around and went to the cliffs too. Great place!
If I only knew.. :P :D
Perfect weather to sit in a pub and drink Guiness. I would love to try a Guiness in Ireland. Beers are always better in their place of origin. I like Guinness in general so I'm sure its amazing there.
Ya the weather was drizzling and raining all day which was a pity, but we had good craic in the pubs.
Definitely, always good to drink what the locals do when you travel the world..
I agree for sure 👍
Cool place to enjoy a couple of pints. Cheers! :)
