About a month ago I was absolutely sure that it was the last time I got out on the water with a boat and back then it was still about 20°C outside and that boat had some sort of a cover on it so the experience wasn't that windy and cold, but I've proved myself wrong again. Yesterday after I met, unexpected, with two friends of mine who live in a city at about 200 kilometers from here we went to a restaurant close to my place and had some coffee for them and orange juice for me. I don't drink coffee and during this time of the year vitamin C is highly welcomed.
Soon after we left the place we thought what could we do else before they would leave the town, in a couple of hours, and being close to the boat of one friend of us who left it in my custody we said that it would be nice to take a short cruise on this sunny day and that's what we did. Although outside it was pretty warm I knew that on water going 30 knots(about 60 km/h) it would be a totally different situation so we wore some thick jackets, caps and sun glasses... as you will see in the following pics. The sun glasses served two purposes though, for the shinning sun seem to have followed us everywhere making the water shine and to protect us against the wind.
As soon as we left the deck the cold wind was definitely to be felt and we found that we were pretty much alone on the open water. There was the police patrol that "guards" the border and some small boats also, but other than that it was just us, the wind, some "bumpy waves" and the open water. The course we took might look familiar for you if you have been following me for a while because it is not the first time I'm sharing it on Steemit. It's the area of The Danube Boilers which is well know for tourists in my country that I go out with the boat at usually.
During that hour and a half that we were on water, or something like this, I managed to snap some pics and also to drive the boat for a bit. I don't have yet a license but I am allowed to do that if assisted by someone who has one and since this friend of mine that has one allowed me to do that I took on the wheel for most of the trip. I admit that it would have been great to do that more in summer but I have to be thankful for what I got now. There was pretty quiet in the area with no big cruise ships passing by and just some fishermen once in a while that didn't seem to be happy with us and our motor boat going near them.
I wanted to go also on fishing in that area because I know there are pretty good spots but we didn't had the time to do that. However for a sunny Sunday it was a nice experience and I could also say a surprise one. I never got out on an open boat this time of the year and I don't think I will do this again as the weather cast shows temperatures outside going to 10°C and even lower for the next weeks, but life is full of surprises so, who knows? "Expect the unexpected and you will never be dissapointed".
Thanks for attention
