The Johnston County (North Carolina) Republican Party will be holding a Convention on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The location of the Convention is within the Johnston County Courthouse Building on 2nd Street, in Smithfield, North Carolina. The Convention will run from approximately 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Check in and registration and registration will be conducted from 6:00-6:30 PM.
It is not required but higly recommended that you register online at:

When clicking on the link you will see a page that looks similar to the image below: Click on "ONLINE REGISTRATION" to register for the convention. Note only Johnston County Residents who were registered as Republican as of January 31, 2025 - will be eligible to participate.
Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the 2025 Proposed Plan of Organization, and the 2025 Convention rules which can be accessed from the same webpage.
Several significant events will occur at the Convention:
- Precinct Leaders and , Delegates - those people able to vote when the Convention is Called to Order will be selected
- Plan of Organization (bylaws) Update
- Election of the County Committee Officers
- Election of Delegates to the District and State Convention
The Nomination period for the respective officers to the County Committe, begin on February 1st and ends on February 24, 2025. From the proposed Convention rules:
"(B) Nominations will be taken online from 12:01 AM February 1st until 11:59 PM February 24th"
