Rewarding value, for value can be challenge for lower and mid tier accounts, and I always have my eyes open for tools that I can use to improve not only my experience but the experience of people who interact with my content.
Hive Stake Based Income
One of the tools I use and love is Hive Staked Based Income from @josephsavage and @steembasicincome - https://www.hivesbi.com - it works as a curation booster, and I even recently learned it can be transferred from @ecoinstant . If you plan on being on Hive the next decade or so it's definitely worth a look. To give a unit to another person and yourself you send 1 $HIVE to @steembasicincome with the account name in the memo field.
DustSweeper
I likely use the the most suboptimal voting mechanics on Hive, there should probably be a badge for it. If there was a contest I'd almost effortlessly win, voting strategically is probably better for you and the person you are interacting with - but here we are :)
Look here to learn more:
@dustsweeper is something I've recently learned about, and just today got configured to operate correctly. Essentially you send Hive to @dustweeper and if any of your votes fail to meet the minimum threshold for payout - DustSweeper comes in and votes just enough to make sure your vote counts. Brilliant!

Comment Rewarder!
This is a tool I saw pop up in my feed, recently and decided to begin employing so we will test it out here! I'll probably get it wrong the first few times but that's okay! This one was a cool find because @hivetrending worked on it! I've noticed HiveTrending has had a hand in a lot of cool tools.
See the post here:
Basically you set @commentrewarder as a beneficiary on a post. At the 3-day mark Comment Rewarder checks which comments you've upvoted and shares some of the author rewards with the commenters. I like it.
https://peakd.com/hive/@commentrewarder/introducing-commentrewarder-a-new-service-to-reward-comments
In this post I've set 25% of the post rewards to go commentors. What's the most common setting you use?
**What other tools should I add to my routine? **
I'm not sure if it still exists, but there used to be an app called "Engage" that would collate all your replies and comments to posts and conversational threads into a sleek interface that cut down on so much clicking back and forth.
Was awesome, but I've lost my link to it.
That is a good one!https://engage.hivechain.app
Yes, that's the one! Added back to my favourites! If only I had engagement on my posts, I'd have more of a reason to use it! :D
Haha, I like readers myself :)
Thank you for posting in the Ecency community
Sending you Ecency points ♥️
Thank you!

These tools can be great for those with low HP. It does help when the price goes up so that votes are more likely to be over the payout threshold.
I tell newbies not to worry too much about voting on comments, but with Comment Rewarder they can still give rewards.
You can also buy into things like !BEER to be able to give something to people, but it's not worth too much really.
My account is in a strange place. Because of my promotional work through legacy social media, I get more views off Hive than on. I also incorporated HIVE into some of the local journalism I perform.
On a fundamental level though I like to give back value for value.
!BEER !PIZZA
I don't do much on other platforms, so it's all about Hive for me. We do need to make more people aware of it, but I don't have the time and I find some of those platforms toxic.
You're not half wrong. Bad tools can amplify or encourage poorer or worse manifestations of our character, or persona. Legacy social media is primarily tokenized with dopamine and transitory validation, negative expressions produce more dopamine.
Given its transient nature, and diminishing enjoyment from each subsequent dose of dopamine and associated neurotransmitters, you get people chasing their own addition to the responses in their brain chemistry with more and more negative communications. Legacy social media requires some additional effort to use and consume well.
There are so many great tools around the ecosystem and it’s really more by luck that I come across them, I’ll have to look at these 3 - especially dustsweeper as my upvote is so small that I don’t really get to give the reward to things I really like in the amounts I would like to. !BBH
I started looking at people's transactions manually and using some tools made by @hivetrending to better understand how people use Hive at a mechanical level.
My focus is the content and the relationships and networks that people form, but the underlying mechanics shape the way we encounter and relate to each other.

I was looking at hiveprojects.io unfortunately a lot of the tools on there seem to be dead projects
Back in the day HSBI was "STEEM BASIC INCOME" or SBI. When the project continued under HIVE, it became HSBI with the less communistic name. :-)
Love comment rewarder, I've seen so much more engagement and comments since sharing 10% of my author rewards. It's good giving back! !BBH
We found that was branding that cuts both ways. On Hive, it's 'Hive Stake Based Income' which is more explicitly how things always worked. But we still use all the same accounts.
Thanks for chiming in! I've had SBI and HSBI from the very beginning. It seems more popular now then ever before, so the branding seems to be working. !BBH
I believe there was a group that dismissed it without learning about it because of the branding. After the change, some of them looked into how it actually worked (whereas the early adopters that came because of the branding either continued using it or drifted away from Hive entirely).
One of these days I need to come up with a cohort analysis approach to compare retention for accounts using Hive SBI versus accounts with similar characteristics that are not using it. About 25% of HSBI members are active on Hive, which I think is good, but it's kind of meaningless without valid comparable data.
Glad to see such a large percentage of HSBI members still active! !BBH

I see, I just have notification from ecency mobile that Dust swepper vote the comment. Nice!
I've got it loaded it up and after I configured it cover outgoing votes, it seems to be doing it's thing fairly well.

I still see vote from SBI1 SBI5 and SBI4 account. They are still active in Steem Blockchain, maybe I'll give it a try.
Maintenance only on Steem, but operational.
@commentrewarder service would have been awesome if it did not spam comment-less posts with meaningless comment "you are rewarding 0 (zero) replies".
The summary update at the three day mark?
Yes, I think so. Here are few examples:
I quit using @commentrewarder because of that. Who wants spam (or meaningless noise) in comments?
It's a matter of curation on my part, so I have to use some discernment and weigh the quality.
I'm okay with that at least for the time being.

Right now, I'm only setting commentrewarder at the minimum of 3%. However, that's enough to at least guarantee the commentor gets something even if my upvote doesn't make it above the dust level.
I'm using a higher setting and will for a while, but my main goal is to drive conversations, and leverage the mechanic to drive good comments.
I really enjoy having readers and strong interaction:)

I used to feel like my voting on comments on my post didn't count until I started using comment rewarder I so much like that service, all I have to do now is give a tiny percentage of my vote to those comments on my blog and they are rewarded in liquid hive at the end of my post payout.
I haven't tested the rest you talked about, maybe sometimes I will give them a try.
I am going to go make a badge quick as suggested....

.It's certainly great that there are tools that make feedback more enjoyable for content creators.
As far as I understand, commentrewarder is the newest addiction on the platform. I discovered it a few months ago and it's a marvel.
It's like a gift for all users, no matter if they are big or small.
I find it excellent and I'm glad you are getting to know it.
Thanks to you, I am getting to know tools like Hive Stake Based Income and DustSweeper so it's a pleasure to share the findings.
