It is interesting to learn something new, get to know a new culture and learn about the history of the world you live in.
You don’t have to be a history lover or be interested in how things were back then, but it is nice to see and have a chance to be a part of something that is today and compare with something that was back then. When I say back then, it means years, decades, centuries. We have to know where we live and to be thankful,
because without history, achievers and achievements, we would have all this that we have today. Right?! So, when you go on a trip, vacation, getaway,
if you have an opportunity to visit any kind of historical attraction, then you will never make a mistake. This kind of attractions are the once that we have to see,
they bring us new knowledge, ideas, we get to meet other cultures, customs, etc.
Especially when you visit Mexico. There is a lot to see and learn. Mexico is like a mystery woman, which you need to get to know,
even though you know that you will have fun and enjoy every minute of it.
Mexico is a destination, but your accurate location for your trip/vacation is Tehuacán, a city in the state of Puebla.
A city that is fun and very interesting! You will have a great time… but while you are there, you have to check out a couple of attractions that will blow your mind, and one of them is Zona arqueológica de Tehuacán Viejo.
For all of you that are into history, Zona arqueológica de Tehuacán Viejo is an archeological site which (and I will quote)
“importance of this region is fundamental in the domestication of various plants, including corn. The site of Tehuacán was considered the most important cult center and political head of the region during the Postclassic”. Also, “The city Ndachjian or Tehuacán El Viejo dates from 1000 AD to 1456 AD, approximately,
this ancient city sheltered the Nguiwa or Popoloca culture. The architecture of this city is distinguished by the sets of buildings distributed in the unevenness of the plateau
and is constituted by residences of rulers and priests, pyramidal bases, drainage, water conduits as well as the Templo Mayor and the Templo de las Calaveras.”
All these words best explain this archeological site that you are going to visit. It is spectacular, and you get to see something different on your trip.
There is no admission, it is an outdoor attraction. Open hours are from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm. Closed on Mondays.
