This is one of the extensive city parks in the region of Mexico and it is commonly recognized among the locals as the Bosque De Chapultepec. Constructed on the rock formation on the Chapultepec Hill, this spread-out park covers an area of 1695 acres. One of this city park’s dominant role is to provide extensive space for the ecological system of Mexico City to thrive and flourish in the community. It means that this park houses huge trees that become a source of fresh and refilled oxygen and air for the inhabitants of the Mexico Valley.
Since the Pre-Columbian era, when the Aztec rulers deemed the place to be their sanctuary and retreat, the city park becomes a national historic landmark of the Mexico City. Those tourists who are fond of learning the comprehensive history of the place will be astounded to note that at the time of the colonial period, in the city park, the Chapultepec Castle was constructed that became a home for many of the Mexican rulers and heads. It was not until 1940 when this castle remained to be an important source of Mexican government office when it was removed from the city park and transferred to another park, the Los Pinos.
Those visitors who love to make the tour of the park will realize that the city park is segmented into three sections. Out of them, one is the oldest and most frequently visited park, as it houses notable attraction s within the park’s confinements. These attraction include the Rufino Tamayo Museum, the Chapultepec Zoo and the Museum of Anthropology. On an estimate. 15 million visitors annually with the park and especially the most long-standing section of the park that has three prime attractions. Due to such a large attendance of the visitors that meant constant maintenance and improvements, the park underwent urgent renovation and rehabilitation for 5 years that is from 2005 to 2010. Furthermore, within the city park, the government have given its consent and approval for the construction of businesses, huge and accommodating parking spaces and offices.
Along with housing these notable attractions and being the source of oxygen for the thriving of the emerging ecosystems in the Valley of Mexico, the city park is also a refuge and retreat for the migratory birds that fly from Canada, US and other regions of the Mexico City.
