Hello Needle workers..
Happy new month to y'all.
It's another beautiful Monday to share our beautiful needlework project.
Last week, I shared a project I made for a client who brought in her sister in this post and today I'll be sharing another referral I got from that project.
There's power in referral which is why as fashion designers we need to always put in our best on any project we are embarking on.
After the wedding, the mom of my client called me and began to tell me how much she loved her daughter's outfit and that her wedding fabric had never been sewn since she wore something else to the wedding.
We fixed a date for her to bring in the fabric which was last week Thursday and then I took her measurements and began my job.
It was the same fabrics and the same lining but a different style, I wonder why mothers always love Boubous😅.
"I don't want stress, just make me bourbon please" Mimi's mother concluded as she dropped in her fabrics.
Boubou is one of the simplest outfits to make and I sometimes love making boubou when I have a lot of work pending because it is very easy to cut and sew, the boubou style can be achieved in 30 minutes if one is focused on the project.
I believe moms love the Boubou style because it is very comfortable to wear and very affordable as well.
Here is the lining she brought in with the lace fabric.
I made a sleeveless A-line dress with the lining which will be worn before the actual lace.
I made a round neckline as seen in the picture, using a 3inches width and 3inches depth.
I proceeded to the actual lace and made a cut, using her length, and body measurement, a boubou is usually a free dress, so I ensured to put in a lot of allowance for the actual body measurement as seen in the picture here.
I used a canoe neckline for the boubou since there will be no zipper.
As I said, all it requires is a straight stitch down from the armhole to the hem of the outfit.
A boubou doesn't require a separate sleeve, it is often cut together that's why it's the simplest style to make.
Here are the various sides of the boubou sewn in minutes.
If you look closely, you see the lining through the lace and that's the reason we made a separate lining I think it's also a good idea as the lining can be worn for different laces that match the cocolourthat's a life of my finalist, right?
So here is the picture in full. The sun brought out the beauty of the outfit, can you see the colour popping?
This outfit gives a rich aunty vibe. hehe.
And here is the side view.
As a fashion designer, I have learned the art of photography too as it enhances the beauty of the dress as seen in my picture.
My client loved it and that's the satisfaction I derive from my skill.

Thank you so much for your comment.
Such a beautiful piece of fabric -- and I love how it turned out, modest but very alluring at the same time due to the draping and shimmer. great sewing!
Thanks for the beautiful comment.
Simple and lovely. She is just like my mother who wouldn't stress herself with any owambe style. Only the ladies are left with that wahala.
Hehe, true.. thanks for stopping by.
You welcome
It is a very simple designe, but the way you use the fabric makes the dress looks so elegant.
Congratulation for this nice job.
Thank you so much, ma'am.
What a beautiful dress! The fabric is beautiful! I really like sewing, but I still don't dare to publish it, or sew for people outside my family. God bless your talent for sewing. A hug from Venezuela.

Thank you very much for encouraging me to do it. I'll try! Blessings 🙏
The boubou dress is lovely o. I think it's because of the less hassles while wearing bit that makes most older women like it and besides boubou dresses make one appear classy😁
Yeah, the Boubou dress makes one look truly classy. Thanks for coming around.
It's my pleasure ma'am
The boubou gown is so fine, you finish work with the fabric. God when will I learn to sew like this.

This is very beautiful and looks easy but then one needs to have the interest to proceed. There is power in referrals. A job well done is all that is required to pull other clients in. Well done dear
