The only one I remember fur: I fell in love with a mannequin….

You got the first one for sure! Well done!

'Songs From the Big Chair' was a big hit at the time, and very over-played. I can only listen to 'The Working Hour' now, that's a hidden gem.

I'll have to go back and spin it sometime.

Eighties 🙌

Love it!!!
Good mix of new wave vibes , Pop Rock and strait up rock & roll!

Eighties!

Oh Starship, it really was one of my favorite songs for a long time. The movie that it was used for is of course Mannequin. Also a movie I enjoyed very much. Twisted Sister's song is featured in Iron Eagle (1986), and the last one is very hard ... and kind of a gamble because of what you already mentioned. This song is featured in movies several times, even in 2018 (in a different version), but my guess here is that you are looking for Real Genius (1985).

You win! I'm going to let this play out, but I'll be sending the HBI shares out next week. If you don't see it come across, you know where to find me! Congrats! That happened faster than I expected! If I do this again, I might need to change things up!

Lol ... I seriously had my doubts about the last one, but thanks! It doesn't happen too often that I'm able to win with a movie theme, but since this is related to songs ... I was lucky as all those three songs are very familiar to me too. 😊

The last one was also in Secret of my Success and since that had Michael J Fox in it, I thought it would be the bigger draw for a lot of people. You did very well!

Songs From the Big Chair

Is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Great tunes and great bands and I know them all. I was looking forward to what you were playing when I saw the title hehe and good films too!

Thanks, I appreciate it. I remember I owned it on CD, but I think I also went and bought it on vinyl when I started collecting records. I agree, it's such a good album.

Yeah I only had it on CD right enough.

I thought maybe the film was Donnie Darko, but it doesn't fit, but Mannequin was a pretty iconic film from the 80s we see in the first tune clip! I saw she was also the star from Sex in the City!

Yes, and she was in a Star Trek movie as well. Undiscovered Country I think. I've actually never seen Donnie Darko believe it or not. Mannequin was good, but it was kind of a rip off of Splash in my opinion. :)

ah yes I remember now! the first time I enjoyed Shakespeare! lol

VI was a great movie. One of my favorites.

yes and Star Trek IV I think.

For sure, Voyage Home was money!

I notice someone already won, but it was definitely Real Genius! I only know because I watched it last month otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue!

Some great picks! Tears for Fears had one album before that big one called The Hurting. Some songs from that one still pop up in movies and are occasionally still covered today. It was a very dark and depressing album!

Nothing like some Starship and Twisted Sister! Both fun bands to listen too.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Yeah, it happened a lot faster than I expected. If I do it again I will probably take the correct answers and do some kind of randomization to determine the winner. It gives more people a chance than just whoever happens to see the post first.

First and last we saw both movies with sons and enjoyed the music, middle movie not familiar with that nor the music. Could be a hoot going back to watch some of these older movies again.

Good walk down memory lane, we rented movies to watch on cassette recorder at home with sons being young at that time.

!BEER

We used to do that as well. Iron Eagle was pretty awesome. I can't remember if it came out before or after Top Gun, but between those two movies every kid wanted to be a fighter pilot.

One I remember was MAS*H - "Suicide Is Painless" - Johnny Mandel, CHIPs soundtrack Alan Silvestri, Knight Rider - 'Fire It Up'- Stu Phillips, my guys would recognize in a heartbeat, series we were able to watch. Top Gun lol another nice walk down memory lane.

Driving and playing songs goes well
I also do that at times when driving my father's car

They definitely go hand in hand!

Gosh, these tunes got it! The flavour, the spice, and all other ingredients. I like the first song, and second and the third too... Haha.

Thank ya for sharing amazing tunes like this.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed them. They are some of my favorites from that time period. The 80's were a fun time.

Now you are making me super jealous, haha. Thanks for sharing them.

Guess that I am now feeling how you feel when being too late for a riddle !LOLZ

@bozz, I sent you an

Haha, yeah, I think if I do it again I am going to do things differently. Did you know the answers?

Only 2/3 but I could have found the 3rd with Google or Chat GPT but I love this type of riddles so I am happy to see you take a shot at it.

Ah, the 80's! I can see why our parents liked listening to "oldies stations" when we were growing up. We've been catching a lot of the old bands live -- Hall & Oats, Duran Duran, and most recently Queen and it's really made me want to listen to more of the old music. I love it but it makes me feel so old!

I'm the same way! Hall and Oates put on a good show last time I saw them. Huey Lewis and the News was great to see live too. I'm jealous that you got to see Duran Duran.

Yay! 🤗

Wow - 3 great classics. Who doesnt know these - although Twisted Sister werent that well known over here in the UK.

Really? I would have thought differently.

The 80s really did have amazing music. I wonder if Weird Al is in web3. He needs to "twist" We're not gonna take it into "you're not gonna make it". Some people just don't get it haha

The 90s are near and dear to my heart because I was old enough to enjoy it BUT I grew up listening to 80s music, movies and tv shows. This post was AWESOME!!!

Thanks! I appreciate it. I'm more of a 70s/80s guy, but the 90s are definitely near and dear to me.
