Magor

in BEERlast year

So I "pin" another pin on the map of Czech microbreweries. It's a place I don't know and I haven't even driven through.
This time I just reached into the store fridge and picked out one of the beers. Without torture, I admit that it was the name that attracted me. It wasn't until I got home that I started researching what I actually bought.

The slightly derogatory name of this beer from the family brewery Zichovec (near Panensky Tynec) is said to be (according to the brewery's website) linked to the founder. When he declared at a family council that he wanted to brew beer, they told him he was a fool (magor).

But does the name matter? Far more important is whether it is drinkable and popular with beer drinkers.
I think this beer succeeded.

Semi-dark, 15° special lager (pilsen type), with 5.9% alcohol.
When poured into a glass, it created a rich foam that left rings on the glass after drinking.
The light aroma of hops encouraged me to drink. The full, malty taste gradually turned into a pleasant bitterness in the mouth.

What more could you want after a hard day. So I have another "piece" that I will be happy to return to. I don't even have to drive far for this beer. I can find it in the fridge of my favorite store :-).

As I understand it, the Czech Republic is, along with the Netherlands and Germany, one of the world leaders in beer quality, and the fact that you have reached into the fridge and pulled out a quality beer attests to that.
I love Pilsner type beer and they are of a great quality. I enjoyed your publication.
I want to post, but I don't have the community rules. Great weekend. Cheers and best regards.
