Non è una novità che gli exchanges sono spesso sotto la mira di hackers che hanno lo scopo d'intrufolarsi nei wallet e rubarne il contenuto. Poche ore fa, ByBit ha confermato che il proprio wallet è stato letteralmente bucato ed i fondi, soprattutto $ETH, sono stati spostati vero indirizzi sconosciuti. L'annuncio è stato dato tempestivamente sulla piattaforma social X, ed il CEO Ben Zhou ha confermato che circa 1,5 miliardi di dollari sono stato trafugati e ma ha garantito che tutti i fondi degli utenti sono al sicuro e sono disponibili e prelevabili nel rapporto 1:1.
La notizia ha di certo impressionato non tanto per l'azione degli hackers ma per la quantità di denaro trafugato. A memoria non ricordo un evento di tale portata e che senza dubbio deve fare riflettere sulla pericolosità di conservare i propri fondi sui CEX, i pericoli sono davvero più elevati di quanto si possa pensare. Gli exchange dovrebbero essere utilizzati solo per scambi momentanei, i fondi subito ritirati nei propri wallet, meglio se su dispositivi scollegati dalla rete.
