Persistence is its own reward. Every time you force yourself to persist on a task, whether it is small or large, you feel better or happier about yourself.
Today I share with you a parable from the book of Luke about a poor widow who wanted a judge to grant her justice from her adversary. The parable teaches us about the need to be persistent in our prayers.
Jesus told his disciples a parable about their need to pray all the time and never give up. He said, “In a city there was a judge who didn’t fear God or respect people. In that city there was also a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary. For a while the judge refused. But later, he told himself, ‘I don’t fear God or respect people, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice. Otherwise, she will keep coming and wear me out.’” Then the Lord added, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says. Won’t God grant his chosen people justice when they cry out to him day and night? Is he slow to help them? I tell you, he will give them justice quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Luke 18:1-9
The judge who didn't fear God or respect people wouldn't have listened to the plea of this poor widow but for her persistence he had no option than to grant her justice. The only secret to the poor widow's success was that she would not allow the judge to have peace of mind but bothered her day and night. She kept going to the judge and she refused to give up. Her constant visit to the judged pissed him off amd decided to help her out.
Friends that should be out attitutde when we pray, we should always have "a never give up spirit". W may ask and if it seems are our pleas is not granted we should seek and if there is no answer then we should go the extra mile and knock.
The problem of many Christians today is that they easily give up once they see no results manifesting after they have prayed. They may several reasons why a prayer request is not granted but that should not dissuade us from stopping or quiting prayer.

Jesus said something powerful to the disciples, he said: Won’t God grant his chosen people justice when they cry out to him day and night? Is he slow to help them? I tell you, he will give them justice quickly.
He gave us the secret to receiving a quick answer to prayer. The secret is persistence, to continue praying even when it seems God is taken too long to answer.
Not many Christian are patient enough to wait and so they also miss God. God is around and ready to answer us when we cry out to Him but we need to be persistent just like the poor widow who had no one but relied absolutely on the judge.
