In this work, an exact solution to a new generalized nonlinear KdV partial differential equations has been investigated using homotopy analysis techniques. The mentioned partial differential equation has been solved using homotopy perturbation method (HPM). In details, the study is divided into two cases; the first case is that the linear part is the velocity (the first derivative with respect to time), and the initial guess was chosen at the initial time or the boundary values. Next, the other case was that the linear part consists of many linear terms from the equation, the chosen terms constructed a partial differential equation whose solution can be gained easily. Eventually, some plots of the found solutions have demonstrated the convergent behaviors of the solutions.

This work presents a numerical investigation on the nonlinear wave dynamics of tensegrity beams in 1D, 2D and 3D arrangements. The simulation of impact loading on a chain of tensegrity prisms and lumped masses allows us to apply on a smaller scale recent results on the propagation of compression solitary waves in 1D tensegrity metamaterials. Novel results on the wave dynamics of 2D and 3D beams reveal - for the first time - the presence of compact compression waves in two- and three-dimensional tensegrity lattices with slender aspect ratio. The dynamics of such systems is characterized by the thermalization of the lattice nearby the impacted regions of the boundary. The portion of the absorbed energy moving along the longitudinal direction is transported by compression waves with compact support. Such waves emerge with nearly constant speed, and slight modifications of their spatial shape and amplitude, after collisions with compression waves traveling in opposite direction. The analyzed behaviors suggest the use of multidimensional tensegrity lattices for the design and additive manufacturing of novel sound focusing devices.

Kirigami-inspired metamaterials are attracting increasing interest because of their ability to achieve extremely large strains and shape changes via out-of-plane buckling. While in flat kirigami sheets the ligaments buckle simultaneously as Euler columns leading to a continuous phase transition, here we demonstrate that kirigami shells can also support discontinuous phase transitions. Specifically, we show via a combination of experiments, numerical simulations and theoretical analysis that in cylindrical kirigami shells the snapping-induced curvature inversion of the initially bent ligaments results in a pop-up process that first localizes near an imperfection and then, as the deformation is increased, progressively spreads through the structure. Notably, we find that the width of the transition zone as well as the stress at which propagation of the instability is triggered can be controlled by carefully selecting the geometry of the cuts and the curvature of the shell. Our study significantly expands the ability of existing kirigami metamaterials and opens avenues for the design of the next generation of responsive surfaces, as demonstrated by the design of a smart skin that significantly enhance the crawling efficiency of a simple linear actuator.

The temporal evolution of a large, localized initial disturbance is considered in the context of the viscous fluid conduit system---the driven, cylindrical, free interface between two miscible Stokes fluids with high viscosity contrast. Due to buoyancy induced nonlinear self-steepening balanced by stress induced interfacial dispersion, the disturbance evolves into a slowly modulated wavetrain. An extension of Whitham averaging theory is used to resolve the fission of an initial disturbance into solitary waves, a fundamental problem in, for example, tsunami and internal ocean wave modeling. Modulation theory predicts the relationship between the disturbance profile, the number of emergent solitary waves, and their amplitude distribution. These predictions are confirmed both numerically and experimentally. The number of observed solitary waves is consistently within 1--2 waves of the prediction, and the amplitude distribution shows remarkable agreement. This is the first known experimental confirmation of this theory. Universal properties of solitary wave fission in other fluid dynamics problems are identified, even when the underlying partial differential equation model is not completely integrable.
A Split-Step Fourier Scheme for the Dissipative Kundu-Eckhaus Equation and its Rogue Wave Dynamics (1904.12809v1)

We investigate the rogue wave dynamics of the dissipative Kundu-Eckhaus equation. With this motivation, we propose a split-step Fourier scheme for its numerical solution. After testing the accuracy and stability of the scheme using an analytical solution as a benchmark problem, we analyze the chaotic wave fields generated by the modulation instability within the frame of the dissipative Kundu-Eckhaus equation. We discuss the effects of various parameters on rogue wave formation probability and we also discuss the role of dissipation on occurrences of such waves.

We present a new method for constructing -dimensional minimally superintegrable systems based on block coordinate separation of variables. We give two new families of superintegrable systems with () singular terms of the partitioned coordinates and involving arbitrary functions. These Hamiltonians generalize the singular oscillator and Kepler systems. We derive their exact energy spectra via separation of variables. We also obtain the quadratic algebras satisfied by the integrals of motion of these models. We show how the quadratic symmetry algebras can be constructed by novel application of the gauge transformations from those of the non-partitioned cases. We demonstrate that these quadratic algebraic structures display an universal nature to the extent that their forms are independent of the functions in the singular potentials.
On the dispersionless Davey-Stewartson system: Hamiltonian vector fields Lax pair and relevant nonlinear Riemann-Hilbert problem for dDS-II system (1809.04225v4)

In this paper, the semiclassical limit of Davey-Stewartson systems are studied. It shows that these dispersionless limited integrable systems of hydrodynamic type, which are defined as dDS (dispersionless Davey-Stewartson) systems, are arisen from the commutation condition of Lax pairs of one-parameter vector fields. The relevant nonlinear Riemann-Hilbert problems with some symmetries for the dDS-II system are also constructed. This kind of Riemann-Hilbert problems are meaningful for applying the formal inverse scattering transform method, recently developed by Manakov and Santini, to study the dDS-II system .
Pentagram maps and refactorization in Poisson-Lie groups (1803.00726v2)

The pentagram map was introduced by R. Schwartz in 1992 and is now one of the most renowned discrete integrable systems. In the present paper we show that this map, as well as all its known integrable multidimensional generalizations, can be seen as refactorization-type mappings in Poisson-Lie groups. This, in particular, provides invariant Poisson structures and a Lax form with spectral parameter for multidimensional pentagram maps. Furthermore, in an appendix, joint with B. Khesin, we introduce and prove integrability of long-diagonal pentagram maps, encompassing all known integrable cases, as well as describe their continuous limit as the Boussinesq hierarchy.
On the dispersionless Davey-Stewartson hierarchy: Zakharov-Shabat equations, twistor structure and Lax-Sato formalism (1812.10220v3)

In this paper, we continue the study of the Davey-Stewartson system which is one of the most important dimensional integrable models. As we showed in the previous paper, the dDS (dispersionless Davey-Stewartson) system arises from Hamiltonian vector fields Lax pair. A new hierarchy of compatible PDEs defining infinitely many symmetries, which is associated with the dDS system, is defined in this paper. We show that this hierarchy arises from the commutation condition of a particular series of one-parameter Hamiltonian vector fields.
