dannewton just finished a 6.32km run, that lasted for 39 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 511.0 calories.

Description from Strava: Todays run was another easy effort, but first things first was a walk out with my Dad this morning. I am on holiday this week, so lots of spare time available. I do have plenty of chores/jobs to complete, but I've also got time for some fun stuff to.

My Dad is retired, and has plenty of free time, so we headed out to Sherwood Pines. Its a located near Sherwood Forest, ad whilst the visitor centre there is maintained by the RSPB for wildlife etc, Sherwood Pines is more of a visitor attraction, with places to walk and lots of mountain bike trails. There is a 'Go Ape' attraction nearby and there are also 2 running 'routes' and even some Disc Golf if you were interested!

I wasn't interested in that, and neither was Dad to be honest, so we went for a stroll in the sunshine instead. The weather was chilly at 7C, but it was still a beautiful day

There's a few marked trails for walking, and we did the Castle one first at approx 3 miles:

After the walk we went to the cafe on site, and we both had the 'breakfast bap' - fried egg, hash brown, 2 sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, it was delicious!

We then went back out to do a second walk, the smaller 'Archers Stroll'

It was a lovely day out, just me and my Dad (and the dog Lola) catching up and generally just spending some time together. Neither of us had been here before, but we were both impressed by the location, the walks available and the facilities too, we'll definitely be back at some point!

After the drive home, I got some lunch, and ticked off some chores, be fore it was time to head out for an easy run.

I'm still in recovery mode while dealing with the groin strain issues, but I've got the green light from the Sports Therapist to keep running, as long as I keep the effort/distance sensible. To be fair I agree that there is no point pushing at the moment until the pain goes away...

The run was the reliable route up the bypass and back, and I kept the effort easy and in zone 2.

When I arrived back home I then went through the stretches I mentioned in the last post. Its only been a couple of days and I know it might be wishful thinking, but I 'think' I'm already seeing a slight improvement, both in range of motion and also in the level of discomfort I feel as I run.

Tomorrow I need to wait in for a parcel, so will be doing more jobs of the list (it is a long list!), and then if the parcel comes early, I will be walking into town to sort it out (i.e. take the watch in to get the strap replaced). If the parcel is delivered late, then I'll be walking in on Friday. Not sure when my next run will be, but I suspect it will most likely be Friday as well

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Forests are nice for a walk. I played disc (or Frisbee) golf many years ago, but don't know of a course near here. @bozz keeps reminding me when he goes for a round and posts about it.

Yes they are... even better during the week like this as they can be really quiet.

I've seen several clips about disc golf, but this is the first course i've found. I wouldn't mind giving it a go actually, just to try something different!

Keep going, you're smashing your training at the moment and getting stronger every day.
