General Notes

As a neutral card, this monster has built in versatility and comes with the snipe ability at level 1, which is very effective.

The additional snare ability that is unlocked at level 6 can help to remove enemy flying monsters ability to evade your monsters attacks and can also help to make the earthquake rule damage flying monsters when the rules include earthquake.

It comes with a decent allocation of 5 health at level 1 and is not the slowest compared to many other monsters with 2 speed at level one and 5 speed at max level, which is much faster.

It's ranged attack type, that starts at 2 damage and increases to 4 damage at max level, is good for allowing it to take up the flank with its health to help buffer against sneak attacks. You may find it useful to put it in the next to last position instead of the flank to protect it longer and keep it in play to continue taking out key monsters with its snipe ability.

Having 6 mana casting cost, this monster can fit several team builds as long as the mana cap is not too low.

You can also add blast with Yodin Zaku as the summoner, which can greatly increase the power of this card as it will help supercharge it's snipe ability.

Strengths
Neutral monsters are available in most circumstances.
Snipes enemies behind the tank.
Moderately high health ranging between 5 and 7 at various levels
Additional ranged damage added level 4 and level 10
Weaknesses
Low attack power starting at 1 and increasing at levels 4 and 8
Slow at level 1 with speed of 2, but speed increases at level 3, 7, and 9

Lore

A Mantoid is a skinny insect, resembling a praying mantis, about the size of a Goblin’s head. As it approaches its prey, the Mantoid may tilt its head inquisitively from side to side and rub its front legs together. The head tilting is actually an esophageal stretch as the Mantoid prepares to eat something wider than its throat. What looks like leg rubbing is actually the systematic sharpening of a thousand tiny razors, preparing them to cut through flesh like butter.
