Quienes han seguido nuestras aventuras acá en Buenos Aires, saben muy bien que la hemos disfrutado a fondo. Hemos conocido otras capitales de latinoamérica y ninguna podría calzar los puntos de un lugar tan cosmopolita como hermoso, refiriéndome a la capital gaucha. Los espacios verdes interminables y bien repartidos, garantizan que en la zona donde usted elija residir temporal o definitivamente, encontrará un enorme parque donde salir a respirar y caminar a sus anchas. No solo eso, el mantenimiento que le entregan a los parques y espacios comunes es infinitamente superior; esto se nota cuando ves cuadrillas de hombres y máquinas embelleciendo por la noche tales espacios. La verdad que solo por eso, ya es una enorme ventaja respecto a otros sitios. Luego está su gente... Desenrrollados a más no poder.

Those who have followed our adventures here in Buenos Aires, know very well that we have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have known other Latin American capitals and none could match the points of such a cosmopolitan and beautiful place, referring to the Gaucho capital. The endless green spaces and well distributed, guarantee that in the area where you choose to reside temporarily or permanently, you will find a huge park where you can go out to breathe and walk to your heart's content. Not only that, the maintenance given to the parks and common spaces is infinitely superior; this is noticeable when you see crews of men and machines beautifying such spaces at night. The truth is that this alone is a huge advantage over other places. Then there are the people... They are cool.
La paciencia, la estoicidad y la tolerancia hacen del porteño alguien muy especial. Son educados y pasionales. Aunque la gente de la provincia se queje de ellos, jamás encontrarás personas como el bonaerense. Son sensibles, alegres a pesar de las vicisitudes propias de cualquier economía sudamericana y si no tienen el flow caribeño, los venezolanos se han encargado de enseñarlo. El resultado de tanto contacto con connacionales, los ha hecho más tolerantes todavía, porque les encanta la manera de ser del venezolano (fuera de aquellos prejuiciosos, quienes también han aprendido del gaucho las cosas no son así, y los ruidosos maleducados de siempre que suben el volumen sin respetar a los vecinos). Fuera de todo lo anterior, pareciera que el bonaerense hizo como su máxima: vive y deja vivir.

Patience, stoicism and tolerance make the porteño a very special person. They are educated and passionate. Although people from the provinces complain about them, you will never find people like the bonaerense. They are sensitive, cheerful despite the vicissitudes of any South American economy and if they don't have the Caribbean flow, Venezuelans have taught it to them. The result of so much contact with fellow countrymen has made them even more tolerant, because they love the Venezuelan way of being (except for the prejudiced ones, who have also learned from the gaucho that things are not like that, and the usual noisy and rude people who always turn up the volume without respecting their neighbors). Apart from all of the above, it seems that the bonaerense did as his maxim: live and let live.
Luego están los servicios públicos. Es increíble pero por mucho que se quejen los porteños, la ciudad tiene servicios de primera y todo funciona. El transporte público es la nave insignia de Buenos Aires. La verdad, no necesita usted tener vehículo acá, al punto de que nuestro hijo nunca ha visto la necesidad de invertir en uno. Y eso, en un país donde el combustible es costoso, tiene implicaciones para la economía personal increíbles. Estuvimos en la oficina de inmigración solicitando una extensión de estadía. Nos atendieron supremamente bien y el trámite duró unos pocos minutos. Cuando una ciudad funciona de este modo, simplemente parece la indicada para establecerse.

Then there are the public services. It's incredible but no matter how much the porteños complain, the city has first class services and everything works. Public transportation is the flagship of Buenos Aires. The truth is, you don't need to have a car here, to the point that our son has never seen the need to invest in one. And that, in a country where fuel is expensive, has incredible personal economy implications. We were at the immigration office requesting an extension of stay. We were treated extremely well and the process took only a few minutes. When a city works this way, it just seems like the place to settle down.
Por último me referiré a los museos y restaurantes. Los primeros los encontrarás en abundancia y si tu viaje es corto, no podrás abarcar todo el arte que reunen en tantas edificaciones. La Argentina es inmensamente rica en las artes creativas y estamos hablando quizás a la altura de los mejores y mayores ciudades culturales sobre la faz de la tierra. ¿Y la vida gourmet? Bueno, con decir que todavía hay cocina no probadas por nosotros, tendrán una pequeña muestra de la gran variedad de chef profesionales en la ciudad. Ayer, caminando a la pileta, descubrí un restaurant de comida coreana que no aparece publicitado en Google Maps. Así es de rica la enorme oferta de cocina internacional ofrecida por el movimiento gourmet bonaerense. En fin, una ciudad que merece las gracias por acogernos y consentirnos. Y a usted, estimado lector ¿Que es lo que más le gusta de Buenos Aires?

Finally I will refer to the museums and restaurants. The former you will find in abundance and if your trip is short, you will not be able to take in all the art that is gathered in so many buildings. Argentina is immensely rich in the creative arts and we are talking perhaps at the level of the best and largest cultural cities on the face of the earth. And the gourmet life? Well, to say that there is still untried cuisine for us, you will have a small sample of the great variety of professional chefs in the city. Yesterday, walking to the pool, I discovered a Korean food restaurant that is not advertised on Google Maps. So rich is the enormous offer of international cuisine offered by the gourmet movement in Buenos Aires. In short, a city that deserves thanks for welcoming and pampering us. And you, dear reader, what do you like most about Buenos Aires?

Pasa muy a menudo, de darnos cuenta de lo que tenemos, cuando lo perdemos o cuando visitamos otras realidades. Que todo funcione, no debería ser novedad, porque así debe ser. De igual manera, debemos aplaudir, destacar y respetar a los que se encargan de que todo funcione. Coincido totalmente en que no es necesario tener un automóvil e inclusive en la provincia funcionan bastante bien los transportes públicos y privados. No al nivel de capital, pero funcionan.
Agradecidos por leer sus percepciones, sobre nuestro país. Me alegra enormemente, que lo esté pasando muy bien.

Dice un dicho: "Se mira afuera lo que se lleva adentro" quizás por haber vivido las vicisitudes de nuestro hermoso pero mal llevado país, se puede valorar aspectos que para otros pasan desapercibidos. Es innegable todo lo que comentas de esta ciudad que tiene mucho por ofrecer y disfrutar especialmente el gentilicio de los Argentinos...Sigue siendo una de las experiencias más enriquecedora, estar aquí es como estar en casa, besos!

Aún me faltan muchos lugares por visitar, pero confió en contar con el tiempo y la oportunidad de hacerlo. La verdad es que la inmensidad de la ciudad es algo a lo que me cuesta acostumbrarme.
Una o dos horas para ir a algunos lugares sin salir de la ciudad será muy normal para quienes viven aquí, pero para mi resulta un poco abrumadora.
Poco a poco me voy acostumbrando a los cientos de líneas de autobuses, ramales de subte y de trenes que atraviesan la ciudad y conectan sus extremos y el resto del país.
