it's been that way for 3-4 days now. i heard that last time this happened, it was down for months. steem/btc is also down on hitbtc and bittrex

Doesn't really matter that BCH is the longer chain, since the difficuly was always way lower than BTC. The total work is what most people care about. I think BCH will overtake…

most likely, yes. major proponents (bitcoin classic was the first i believe) of segwit2x have announced that with segwit2x closed, bitcoin cash is the true bitcoin

I don't think Bitcoin will remain the dominant blockchain for 100 years, but it wont disappear because of the block reward getting too low. There's just too much money in Bitcoin for it to just die.

I honestly don't see that ever happening. Bitcoin can't even agree on scaling solutions, so there's no way there will be consensus on removing the main thing Bitcoin maximalists all agree on.

Well the original goal was for the tx fees to eventually make up for the block reward, since in 100 years there'll be so much transacting on the blockchain that the mining reward…

No big news really. IMO it's mainly that the price has been repressed by the climb in BTC leading up to the gold fork and the segwit2x fork.

Small correction: the supply of EOS isn't fixed. The supply of the ERC20 token is fixed, yes, but validators will still get EOS as block rewards for creating blocks on the EOS blockchain.
