Steemit is a platform with plenty of authors where everyone wants the attention and upvotes.
We must write to convince others and we must be convinced by our own belief to write.
Writing something that simply stating common facts really do not appeal to readers.
It has always been mentioned by many established steemit authors that we need to write quality content to get noticed for upvotes.
There is certain degree of truth in this but it is really hard to get noticed since the moment we post; our article will be drowning in many others that follow very quickly.
Most of us do not have high steempower to get noticed so we need to depend greatly on our writing style as well as our networking.
Lengthy articles with a great content may not necessary get the attention that we want.
We can end up getting discouraged and upset with the effort spent without upvotes and attention wanted.
I have usually written articles related to teachers and students. This article will be focusing on @steemiteducation for struggling content creators in the way they present and write their articles.
I will be using the word ‘trigger’ very often throughout this article as it is the keyword that gets us from where we are to where we want to become as a better writer.
Title that triggers interest
We can write a great article with good content but no one clicks to read.
We end up feeling miserable and bitter. We may not know why.
We may question why no one reads it even though we write so well or even better than those that get high upvotes. The fact is some may just simply have bought those upvotes using upvote bots while others have established their own strong network of support.
As a beginner or struggling content creator without high steempower, we need to reflect how we can grab the attention of readers to at least click on our post title.
Do we have a title that catches the attention of our readers?
In the first place, you may have clicked to read my article because I used an interesting title that aroused your interest.
A simple title is good but we need to think of an effective title by putting ourselves in the shoes of a reader whether we would be compelled to read it when we see the title we intend to have.
A good title should easily trigger and catch readers’ attention.
With all the articles that appear and disappear very quickly as they flood into the platform, can our title trigger readers’ attention immediately before it gets drown and lost into the crowd of other articles?
It is really a competition of title as well as our established reputation.
The next time before we post an article, it is a good practice to reflect and think of a title that triggers interest first.
Trigger word or sentence
Getting readers enter into our article with our effective title is only the first step.
Throughout our article, we should be aware of words and sentences that we are forming to paint an effective mental picture or emotion.
Can our sentences or words trigger immediate emotions or thoughts that make our readers agree with an awakening? (Aha moment)
It is always a good habit to take a break and read our own article again as a reader.
Structure our words or sentences again that we think we can trigger greater thoughts and emotions.
We must write to convince our points and we should be convinced by our own belief.
Without strong belief, it is diluted without the multiple triggers that grab the approval of readers as they read our articles.
Avoid repetition
You may have many triggers that stir the emotions of readers but repetition of similar points can kill the momentum of the flow.
Many authors may think that lengthy article is considered to have rich content.
You may have made a mistake in repeating similar point or idea repeatedly with unnecessary extension of elaboration resulting in a lengthy article.
In short, it is encouraged not to elaborate if you have already stated your points clearly.
Keep it simple and short (KISS)
Lengthy articles can dilute our key ideas in our content as readers may not catch our key ideas easily.
Not many readers may have the patience to read lengthy articles especially with fast moving information due to technology advancement.
Ease of reading is important where just simply reading our articles, our readers can perceive our ideas easily and mental model of our key concepts can be developed.
We need to purposefully write clearly and be precise to convince readers with our ideas.
Convince our readers with the shortest possible time of reading is crucial.
Emotions that trigger emotions
Are we able to trigger strong emotions through our articles?
Do we have strong emotion and belief in our own article?
Without strong belief, we are not able to share our thoughts and feelings about a particular topic.
This makes our article less engaging where our feelings do not interact with our readers.
Choosing the right topic that speaks to ourselves first before starting to write the topic to convince others.
We should have a strong inner conviction to what we write that can effectively deliver our thoughts and emotions to our readers.
In conclusion
Regardless how we intend to present our article, the key is to capture our readers’ interest and convince them with thoughts and reflection.
There are many different writing styles to encourage readers to take greater interest in our content.
Reflect and find our writing styles and take some considerations about our own strengths so that we can write to convince and convince to write.
Making writing the article meaningful for both the content creator and readers.

I like the way you always present your article in sections with proper headers. I think that is something I need to be conscious with as I am still not always doing it. Anyway, great article as usual!
Thank you for reading my article. You have just noticed another good feature of a good article. My original draft had this section about subtitle but I decided to remove it as I had already written quite a bit. The good thing about subtitle is it provides readers with the key point of that section so that it is easier to understand. Some readers may also choose to read sections that only interest them. Without those proper subtitles, the whole article becomes too lengthy and difficulty of reading increases. It is really good to provide those subtitles. Try it out and it can make your whole article a lot more reader friendly. :)
I like your writing style, thanks for those tips, details that seem simple, but that we can not understand at the time of writing.
You gave me a good idea for a post, which is already spinning in my head (convinced to be convincing)
Thank you for reading article. Hopefully the things that is spinning in your head can help you to write a great article! :)
