Happy new week dear hivers and creative needleworkers, wishing everyone a beautiful and amazing week ahead.
Today, I will be sharing with us an interesting and trending fashion project I made during the weekend, a mesh turtle neck blouse in the regalia black colour, during my leisure time scrolling through the internet, I've always seen different models rock this beautiful mesh blouse in different ways, it can be worn underneath an armless dress or blouse, and can also be worn over a black coloured spaghetti strap dress or blouse, these are just a few ways I've seen how this mesh blouse has been styled, of course, I can always come up with my unique styling as well.
I believe every fashionable lady must have this stylish mesh blouse in her wardrobe, as it can also serve as a perfect summer piece, giving that chic look, it also sort of adds sophistication to any outfit you style it with so I've had it in mind to make one for myself and didn't have the opportunity until now. It is very easy to make and doesn't require too much material other than the mesh fabric itself, a zipper, and the same coloured thread.
Without further ado, let's get right into the making process.
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I started by drafting the bodice pattern using pattern paper before transferring it to the mesh fabric, as it is quite difficult to mark directly on the mesh fabric, as this method makes it easier to get a perfect cut.
The front was cut on a fold, while the back bodice has two pieces of the pattern.
- Next, I joined the front and back by the shoulders
- Continuing, I drafted the collar pattern on paper, which I used to cut two pieces using the mesh fabric, adding seam allowance around.
