Porto Timoni is at the top of the ranking of the most beautiful places on the island of Corfu.
Certainly rightly so.

Na pewno słusznie.
There are two paths leading to Porto Timoni from the picturesque village of Afionas.
We start from the viewpoint with benches, to the left and, of course, down.
Do Porto Timoni prowadzą dwie ścieżki z malowniczej miejscowości Afionas.
Ruszamy od punktu widokowego z ławeczkami, w lewo i oczywiście w dół.

At first the route seems easy but then it is quite different.
We descend on sizable boulders, left heaps of years to the effects of water, sun and people. At times it's not easy, especially for most of the tourists we pass, with flip-flops or sandals on their feet and small children in tow.
Na początku trasa wydaje się łatwa ale potem jest zupełnie inaczej.
Schodzimy po sporych głazach, pozostawionych kupę lat na działanie wody, słońca i ludzi. Momentami nie jest łatwo, zwłaszcza większości mijanych turystów, którzy na nogach klapki lub sandały, oraz małe dzieci w objęciach.
The descent from Afionas to Porto Timoni, is the highest elevation in the area. It's 182 meters over a very short distance.
Zejście z Afionas do Porto Timoni, to największe w tej okolicy przewyższenie terenu. To 182 metry na bardzo krótkim odcinku.
We descend looking carefully underfoot, trying to hit the steps of the steep staircase designed by nature.
Every few minutes there are new views and with each step it gets more and more beautiful.
Schodzimy patrząc uważnie pod nogi, próbując trafiać w stopnie stromych schodów zaprojektowanych przez naturę.
Co kilka minut pojawiają się nowe widoki i z każdym krokiem robi się coraz piękniej.
Along the way, I noticed beautiful spider webs, whose inhabitants were certainly not small.
Smaller and larger cobwebs with a clearly visible funnel-shaped entrance accompanied us for a long part of the trail.
Po drodze zwróciłam uwagę na przepiękne pajęczyny, których mieszkańcy na pewno nie byli małych rozmiarów.
Mniejsze i większe pajęczyny z wyraźnie widocznym lejkowatym wejściem towarzyszyły nam przez długi kawałek szlaku.
About halfway there we pass old ruins. It was here that there was a small stronghold and observation point of the former inhabitants of Afionas. It was from here that they watched for incoming pirates and enemies.
Mniej więcej w połowie drogi mijamy stare ruiny. To tutaj znajdowała się mała warownia i punkt obserwacyjny dawnych mieszkańców Afionas. Właśnie stąd wypatrywali napływających piratów i wrogów.
Continuing along the winding stone path, we reach a viewpoint.
And that's it - just a fairy tale!
Idąc dalej wijącą się kamienną ścieżką dochodzimy do punktu widokowego.
I to jest to - po prostu bajka!

Mój brat Adam i wnuk Spyros.
Porto Timoni is an isthmus between the hills surrounding the bay of Agios Georgios Pagoi on one side.
The isthmus is narrow, but it divides the sea and we see two small rocky beaches.
They seem to be twins, but they are different.
You can clearly see that the beaches differ in size and shape, and their water in color - on the right side it is darker.
Porto Timoni to przesmyk pomiędzy wzniesieniami okalającymi z jednej strony zatokę Agios Georgios Pagoi.
Przesmyk jest wąski ale rozdziela morze i naszym oczom ukazują się dwie małe kamieniste plaże.
Niby bliźniacze a jednak odmienne.
Wyraźnie widać że plaże różnią się wielkością i kształtem, a ich woda kolorem - po prawej stronie jest ciemniejsza.
Both beaches are rocky and charming. Partially shaded by the hills, they encourage swimming.
What a trick! The water is rather cool, even cold for me.
This is not comforting news if the agenda is to return along the stone road, this time uphill and in the scorching sun.
Obie plaże są kamieniste i urocze. Częściowo zacienione przez wzgórza zachęcają do kąpieli.
Ale psikus! Woda jest raczej chłodna, dla mnie wręcz zimna.
To nie jest pocieszająca wiadomość, jeśli w programie jest powrót kamienną drogą, tym razem pod górę i w piekącym słońcu.
If someone doesn't feel up to going back the same way or is looking for another adventure, they can use the water taxi that runs from Agios Georgios Pagoi beach to Porto Timoni and back.
We returned to Afionas on foot so I had another opportunity to admire beautiful views and amazing spider webs.
Jeśli ktoś nie czuje się na siłach żeby wrócić tą samą drogą albo wypatruje kolejnej przygody, może skorzystać z taksówki wodnej, która kursuje z plaży Agios Georgios Pagoi do Porto Timoni i z powrotem.
My wróciliśmy do Afionas na nogach więc miałam kolejną okazję do podziwiania pięknych widoków i niesamowitych pajęczyn.
