There's a new kid in the SocialFi arena and it seems to be doing quite well in its early stages with over 367k users already. Apparently, the project aims to onboard the next billion users to Web 3.
Meet Pop or Pop Social
Pop Social is the next-generation social gateway to Web3. Accordingly, its platform will bridge the gap between traditional social media and the Web3 shared social experience.¹
According to a Coindesk article, it is the "fastest-growing multichain SocialFi platform powered by the native protocol engine Pop Labs, is well on its way to becoming the go-to platform for Web3 innovation and collaboration."²

This is a project by Pop Labs and per their LinkedIn page and I quote:
Pop Social is your AI-Powered Social Gateway to Web3. Our platform will play a fundamental role in the future of creativity, bridging the gap between traditional social media and the Web3 shared social experience.
The Pop ecosystem will be a platform that aggregates content, entertainment, intellectual property, social media, in order to create a community-run ecosystem where users and creators can participate in a cohesive web3 social hub.
We aim to decentralize the world’s creativity the same way Ethereum has decentralized the internet. Pop will redefine how we interact with one another by bringing a new approach to social media and elevate the global push towards social decentralization.

Total Supply: 200M
This is the native currency for the Pop social ecosystem. It can be earned by posting or engaging with content on the Pop DApp, or by watching, reading, liking, commenting, and sharing. Users can also earn $PPT as a reward when sharing their invitation codes.⁵
PPT can be used for in-app purchases in the Pop social ecosystem to level up one's Pop social account (purchase NFTs, open Treasure chests, etc). Holding PPT tokens allows one to participate in the platform governance.
There were two rounds of community sale and both were sold out. Those who participated in the sale are eligible for the one million PPT airdrop.
How to Create an Account
The Pop Social application is in its beta testing phase and is already available for download from the Apple Apple App Store (for iOS users) or the Google Play Store (for Android). Activation can be done on BNB Chain and on Polygon network. Sign-up options include using an email address, a phone number, or connecting one's wallet.⁴ One can even access and explore the app as a "guest."
It supports hundreds of wallets including Ledger, OKX, TokenPocket, MetaMask, SafePal, Binance, MathWallet, Bitcoin.com, Coin 98, Trust, Enjin, Rainbow, imToken, Argent, and many others, some I'm just learning for the first time.
I created a new wallet just to test it out and the sign up process is quite simple. It involves connecting the wallet, signing a message and passing a security (captcha test).

Upon signing up, I was presented with my page with a short welcome message. I was assigned Popper number with a default avatar and a recommendation to create a Pop ID.

There is an ongoing Pop Social Zealy campaign which runs until the 31st of October and with 200k $PPT in the prize pool.
Personal Thoughts
The concept of Pop Social to rewarding people's engagement or interaction is quite interesting. Whether it is going to gain momentum, it is something to see.
Not to forget mentioning that organizations creating their Pop Social accounts have the chance to get their "Verified" badge for free. The golden badge have certain perks including being prioritized on the app, more earnings and more features being unlocked.
I'm yet to fully test the application but will probably be sharing my experience on another day after exploring it.

The name "Pop" is trendy and riding on AI providing the bridge from Web2 to Web3 looks very promising.
