Toronto had a crazy snow fall last night...
Someone I was talking to today was saying that this is the biggest snowfall we've had since the one 20 years ago when they had to bring in the army to dig us out!

My thoughts about it as it was coming down heavy last night: I wanna run through that tomorrow!!
There's either something very wrong with me, or something very right. Haha. I'm going to choose to believe the latter. I've trained my mind and my body to look forward to the challenge dealing with the outdoor elements presents and take joy in overcoming them.
I got to bust out my yak trakz for this run - give you a good grip on slippery surfaces with their metal spikes and coils on the bottom. They just slip over regular running shoes and are a great investment for anyone considering trying out winter running. Only about $40, if I remember correctly.

Parts of my route were plowed, and some parts were not plowed at all. Didn't matter to me. I ran through it all. Big thanks to Nike for making awesome waterproof running shoes that have seen me through 3 winters and are still going strong. Those, combined with the Nike moisture-wicking winter running socks kept my feet nice and warm and dry even though I was barrelling through snowdrifts as high as my knees.

Couldn't help but giggle a little with the sheer joy of running through the snow. Brought back good memories of building snowcastles and tobogganing with my dad and sister when I was a kid. The sun was shining brightly when I was on my way back and I gave thanks for the fresh air that filled my lungs with each breath.

How was your run today?
Stay tuned ;)
