There is a certain risk in this, since the ownership of these assets is in the hands of a single force and not a force of the entire country like the government, perhaps our demands and opinions will stop being heard, and if we want to use them it will always be in the way the "owners" think best. I'm not saying that this makes public services better, but it leaves a loophole in everything.
At first glance, it would be great if a company was always focused on improving the quality of water for its target audience to consume, or keeping its roads free of potholes or many detours, making them fast and efficient. Of course the government tries, or at least they say so.
With the privatization of water, we could see more efficient forms of distribution, since companies would compete with each other to deliver the best and cheapest product possible. Thus bringing competition and solving problems that even with current solutions the Government does not adopt, because they are not prepared; that is another conversation for them.
Here where I live, something similar to water privatization is already happening. My entire neighborhood uses piped water from a completely clean underground well. The well belonged to the first resident of the neighborhood. He has now passed away and his children are the ones who take care of it. However, in general, the water is distributed among everyone, and we have a fixed fee of 60 reais, regardless of the amount spent. The well undergoes inspection and maintenance every 6 months, and the entire distribution process is piped. Of course, before distribution, the water undergoes a chlorine treatment. Even so, it is very sweet and you can barely taste the chlorine.

Mas aí vem os serviços privados, que nos cobram antes que possamos usar as estradas e usufruir da água tratada e de qualidade que eles fornecem. Há um certo risco nisso, uma vez que a posse desses bens estão na mão de uma força única e não uma força de um país todo como o governo, talvez nossa demandas e opiniões parem de eer ouvidas, e se nós quisermos usar dos mesmos será sempre do jeito que os "donos" acharem melhor. Não estou dizendo que isso faz dos serviços públicos melhores, mas deixa uma brecha em tudo.
Ao primeiro ver seria ótimo, uma empresa sempre focada em melhorar a qualidade da água para seu público alvo consumir, ou deixar suas estradas sempre sem buracos ou muitos desvios as tornando rápidos e eficientes. Claro que o governo tenta ou pelo menos eles falam isso.
Com a privatização da água nos poderíamos ver e ter formas mais eficientes de distribuição, uma vez que empresas competiriam entre si para entregar o melhor e mais barato produto possível. Trazendo assim competição e resolução de problemas que mesmo atualmente com soluções o Governo não adota, por não estarem preparados, essa é outra conversa deles.
Aqui onde moro algo parecido com privatização da agua já acontece. Meu bairro inteiro usa água encanada de um poço subterrâneo totalmente limpo, o poço é do primeiro morador do Bairro, atualmente ele faleceu e quem toma conta são os filhos, mas no geral a água é distribuída entre todos, e temos uma taxa fixa de 60 reais, independente da quantidade do gasto, o poço passa sob uma revisão e manutenção a cada 6 meses, e todo o processo de distribuição encanado, e claro antes da distribuição a água passa por um tratamento de cloro, ainda assim é bem doce, e mal se sente o cloro.
Com base em tudo que eu disse, a privatização de grandes coisas como água e estradas, pode ser sim uma coisa boa, ao mesmo tempo tem seus riscos, o único que eu consigo imaginar é a concentração do poder nessas mesmas coisas.
