Gostaria de compartilhar um pouco da minha história com GATOS.
Uma história de vida que tem o antes e depois do contato com esses interessantes e, muitas vezes surpreendentes, amigos de 4 patas.
Tudo começou a 17 anos atrás quando uma vizinha da minha sogra disse que sua gata havia dado cria e se estávamos interessados em pegar algum filhote.
Até então eu tinha somente a Luna, uma cadelinha que foi minha companheira por 15 anos.
A gata havia parido 7 filhotes, no meio deles havia um que não deixava seus irmãos quietos, ele pulava, mordia, batia e corria pela casa toda.
Foi amor à primeira vista, minha esposa disse “é esse que eu quero”. Mal sabíamos nós que esse seria um pequeno passo para nossa família, mas um grande passo para a comunidade felina da região.
E com isso demos as boas vindas ao Julian, nosso companheiro de jornada de 17 anos.
Primogênito de uma família que futuramente seria composta por mais 8.
Gato amistoso, curioso, que se adaptou rapidamente ao crescimento da família.
Este é o Julian, o responsável por trazer uma nova visão sobre um problema sério de saúde pública , as colônias felinas.
Depois que ele chegou em casa comecei a reparar na quantidade gatos de rua e o aumento considerável da população de gatos ferais.
Fiquei sensibilizado pela situação delicada de saúde que vários apresentavam e , devagar, foi nascendo o desejo de “ajudar” no controle da população e na qualidade alimentar destas colônias.
Desde então somos atuantes fervorosos neste sentido.
Capturar, castrar, cuidar, buscar um lar para esta população que só cresce e que o poder público não tem a capacidade de atuar para amenizar a situação.
Esta será minha pequena mini série, contando nossa saga, que de um simples amor pelo pet passou a ser uma luta constante pelo bem estar de animais de rua.
Comecemos com os cativos, mais 8 gatos, cada um com suas particularidades.

Good morning, Hive community!
I’d love to share a bit of my journey with CATS.
A life story that has a clear before and after from the moment I connected with these fascinating—and often surprising—four-legged friends.
It all started 17 years ago when my mother-in-law’s neighbor mentioned that her cat had just given birth and asked if we were interested in adopting a kitten.
At the time, I only had Luna, a little dog who had been my companion for 15 years.
The mother cat had given birth to seven kittens, and among them was one that just wouldn’t let his siblings rest—jumping, biting, playfully attacking, and running around the house non-stop.
It was love at first sight. My wife immediately said, “That’s the one I want.”
Little did we know that this would be a small step for our family but a giant leap for the feline community in our area.
And so, we welcomed Julian, our loyal companion for the past 17 years.
The firstborn of what would later become a family of nine.
A friendly, curious cat who quickly adapted to our growing household.
Julian was the one who opened our eyes to a serious public health issue: the plight of feral cat colonies.
After he arrived, I started noticing the increasing number of stray cats in the streets and the rapid growth of the feral cat population.
Seeing so many of them in fragile health moved me, and little by little, the desire to help took root—focusing on controlling the population and improving the food quality available to these colonies.
Since then, we’ve been deeply involved in this mission.
Rescuing, neutering, providing medical care, and finding homes for these animals—whose numbers keep growing, while public efforts remain insufficient to address the situation.
This post marks the beginning of my mini-series, where I’ll share our journey—from a simple love for pets to a relentless fight for the well-being of stray animals.
Let’s start with the ones who live with us—our eight cats, each with their own unique personalities.
