A finales del año pasado, me invitaron a participar en una iniciativa que consistía en hablar sobre «Mis tres mejores momentos Hive de este año». Por aquel entonces, estaba escribiendo algo para uno de los tantos retos de escritura que se organizan dentro de la plataforma y le di largas al asunto. Al final, escribí mi participación, sin embargo, nunca hice la publicación.
Mis tres mejores momentos eran los siguientes:
• Haber estado entre los ganadores de algún concurso de escritura.
• Curar otras publicaciones con Puntos de Ecency.
• Disfrutar de los trabajos que hay en este amplio ecosistema.
No publiqué porque el primer momento me pareció banal y carecía de otra experiencia para llenar ese espacio. Además, sentía que faltaba algo. La mayoría de usuarios que participaron en la iniciativa, compartieron que uno de sus mejores momentos fue cuando conocieron otros hivers en persona. Por aquel entonces, yo no conocía ninguno.
Sabía de las clases de Hive Live Sessions que se habían realizado en Valencia, Carabobo, el estado donde resido; pero no pude asistir. Una vez comenté una publicación de @hivecreatorsday en la que manifesté mi deseo de compartir con otros usuarios y la respuesta fue que estuviera pendiente porque pronto se haría otra reunión en la ciudad.
Me anoté para asistir a una de esas reuniones en diciembre, pero nunca recibí respuesta.
A principios de este año, salió una publicación en la que invitaban a todos los hivers de Carabobo a un picnic en el Parque Negra Hipólita de Valencia. Me agradó la idea, pero también me causó algo de pánico porque ahora debía afrontar el hecho de conocer gente nueva.
Desde hace tiempo sé que no soy de estar en grupos, pues disfruto más la soledad que la compañía; pero la realidad era que necesitaba socializar más, salir de mi caparazón e interactuar con personas contemporáneas a mí, pues en la biblioteca solo tengo a los libros, uno que otro usuario asiduo y mis compañeras de trabajo, cuya edad dobla la mía.
Estaba tan ansioso antes de la reunión que no asistí; pero me arrepentí bastante.
Sí, no tiene sentido que en diciembre hubiera querido conocer a los muchachos y que cuando por fin podía hacerlo dejara que mi ansiedad ganara; pero es la verdad. Me costó un poco superar eso, a pesar de que durante mi adolescencia era una persona sociable.
Arrepentido como estaba, seguí pensando en lo grato que sería compartir con otros hivers. Para ese momento, ya había dado con el blog de @lunaticanto y disfrutaba de su contenido. A través de una publicación de ella y otra de @universoperdido, supe que este grupo estaba haciendo senderismo en algunas montañas del estado y me atreví a invitarlos para el cerro El café. ¿Qué podía salir mal?
Varios días después, @soy-laloreto me contactó por telegram y me invitó a unirme al grupo de @hivevalencia. Tardé unos veinte minutos en responder. Estaba nervioso, aunque parezca una tontería. En ese momento comprendí que realmente necesitaba salir de mi burbuja.
Romper esa barrera fue lo mejor que pude haber hecho.
Luego del cerro El café, tuvimos una reunión en la que nos organizamos como comunidad y planteamos varias cosas a futuro. Después hubo una salida al cerro Kairoi y, por último, realizamos un evento literario dentro de la Casa de la Cultura de Naguanagua, seguido de una noche de tragos y risas en la que celebramos mi cumpleaños. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?
Los muchachos son un grupo excelente. Cada vez que nos reunimos aprendo algo nuevo con ellos, ya sea sobre Hive o sobre cualquier otra cosa. Cada uno tiene sus propios talentos y son buenos en diversas áreas, por lo que nuestras diferencias nos complementan como comunidad. Además, son personas amables dispuestas a ayudar y enseñar. Su compromiso con la plataforma es incuestionable. Y como buenos venezolanos que son, nunca falta la echadera de broma y los cuentos jocosos cuando estás con ellos.
Por supuesto, antes de conocerlos, ya había tenido muchas amistades, aunque la mayoría quedaron en el pasado una vez salí del liceo, cuando empecé a trabajar o cuando me mudé a Naguanagua, lugar en el que vivo desde hace cinco años. De esas amistades solo quedan pocas y puedo contarlas con una mano.
Pero la vida da muchas vueltas y a veces actúa de forma misteriosa.
En más de una ocasión, he querido abandonar la biblioteca porque le invierto demasiado tiempo y no obtengo ninguna remuneración económica por mi labor. Después de todo, es cierto aquello de que amor con hambre no dura. Sin embargo, sigo pensando que ese es un buen lugar para estar y que de allí pueden surgir cosas buenas, principalmente en el aspecto cultural, como la promoción de la lectura y otras actividades que realizamos semanalmente, las cuales no he podido compartir en el blog porque estoy sin teléfono.
Gracias a esa loca perseverancia (nadie entiende por qué sigo trabajando si no cobro), al destino o la casualidad, serví de enlace para llevar a cabo una actividad de Hive dentro de la Casa de la Cultura. Por supuesto, nada de esto hubiera sido posible sin el buen liderazgo de @soy-laloreto, el apoyo de @hivecreatorsday, los talentos y el entusiasmo de los muchachos.
Y así, por primera vez en mi vida, ayudé a organizar un evento cultural en el que hablamos sobre Hive, declamamos poesías y narramos relatos. Un evento en el que no solo estuvieron presente los hivers, sino algunos profesores, escritores, músicos y profesionales de otras áreas que mostraron gran interés en unirse a la plataforma y que seguramente los veremos pronto compartiendo contenido de calidad en este amplio ecosistema.
Estoy muy feliz y agradecido por todo lo que les he contado. Esta experiencia me ha motivado a seguir en la biblioteca y relacionarme más con personas afines a la cultura del estado, para ser útil a la comunidad y organizar más eventos como el que realizamos el sábado 18 de marzo.
Por eso, ¡Gracias, Hive! ¡Gracias, Hive Valencia!
Gracias a ustedes he encontrado un nuevo hogar en el que todos los días aprendo y poco a poco me formo como escritor, creador de contenido y blogger. Gracias a ustedes tengo un nuevo grupo de amigos con los que espero seguir creciendo, compartiendo y logrando grandes cosas, porque lo que hemos alcanzado hasta ahora es solo el inicio. Gracias a todas esas experiencias la palabra «comunidad» ahora tiene más peso en mi vida, y esto no habría sido posible si no existiera la plataforma. Por esta y muchas razones más:
¡Feliz tercer aniversario, Hive! ¡Qué los años venideros sean prósperos y llenos de cosas increíbles!

At the end of last year, I was invited to participate in an initiative that consisted of talking about "My top three Hive moments of this year". At the time, I was writing something for one of the many writing challenges that are organized within the platform and I dragged my feet. In the end, I wrote my entry, however, I never made the publication.
My top three moments were as follows:
• Have been among the winners of a writing contest.
• Cure other publications with Ecency Points.
• Enjoying the jobs in this vast ecosystem. .
I did not publish because the first moment seemed banal and I lacked another experience to fill that space. Besides, I felt that something was missing. Most users who participated in the initiative shared that one of their best moments was when they met other hivers in person. At the time, I didn't know any.
I knew about the Hive Live Sessions classes that had been held in Valencia, Carabobo, the state where I live; but I was unable to attend. Once I commented on a publication of @hivecreatorsday in which I expressed my desire to share with other users and the response was to be pending because soon there would be another meeting in the city.
I signed up to attend one of those meetings in December but never heard back.
At the beginning of this year, a publication came out inviting all the hivers of Carabobo to a picnic in the Negra Hipólita Park in Valencia. I liked the idea, but it also caused me some panic because now I had to face the fact of meeting new people.
I have known for a long time that I am not a group person, since I enjoy solitude more than company; bbut the reality was that I needed to socialize more, to get out of my shell and interact with people contemporary to me, since in the library I only have the books, one or another regular user and my coworkers, whose age is twice mine.
I was so anxious before the meeting that I did not attend; but I rather regretted it.
Yes, it doesn't make sense that in December I wanted to meet the boys and when I could finally do it I let my anxiety win out; but it's the truth. It took me a while to get over that, even though during my teenage years I was a people person.
Regretful as I was, I kept thinking about how nice it would be to share with other hivers. By that time, I had already stumbled upon @lunaticanto blog and enjoyed its content. Through one of her posts and another from @universoperdido, I learned that this group was hiking in some mountains of the state and I dared to invite them to El Café hill. What could go wrong?
Several days later, @soy-laloreto contacted me by telegram and invited me to join the @hivevalencia group. It took me about twenty minutes to respond. I was nervous, although it seems silly. At that moment I understood that I really needed to get out of my bubble.
Breaking that barrier was the best thing I could have done.
After the El Café hill, we had a meeting in which we organized ourselves as a community and proposed several things for the future. Then there was an outing to the Kairoi hill and, finally, we held a literary event at the House of the Culture of Naguanagua, followed by a night of drinks and laughter in which we celebrated my birthday. What more could you ask for?
The guys are an excellent group. Every time we get together I learn something new from them, whether it's about Hive or something else. They each have their own talents and are good in different areas, so our differences complement us as a community. In addition, they are friendly people who are willing to help and teach. Their commitment to the platform is unquestionable. And like the good Venezuelans they are, there is never a lack of jokes and humorous stories when you are with them.
Of course, before I met them, I had already had many friendships, although most of them were left in the past once I left high school, when I started working or when I moved to Naguanagua, where I have been living for the last five years. Of those friendships only a few remain and I can count them on one hand.
But life takes many turns and sometimes acts in mysterious ways.
On more than one occasion, I have wanted to leave the library because I invest too much time in it and do not receive any financial compensation for my work. After all, it is true that love with hunger does not last. However, I still think that it is a good place to be and those good things can come out of it, mainly in the cultural aspect, such as the promotion of reading and other activities that we do weekly, which I have not been able to share on the blog because I am without a phone.
Thanks to that crazy perseverance (no one understands why I keep working if I don't get paid), fate or chance, I served as a liaison to carry out a Hive activity inside the House of the Culture. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the good leadership of @soy-laloreto, the support of @hivecreatorsday, the talents and enthusiasm of the guys.
And so, for the first time in my life, I helped organize a cultural event in which we talked about Hive, declaimed poetry and narrated stories. An event in which not only the hivers were present, but also some teachers, writers, musicians and professionals from other areas who showed great interest in joining the platform and that we will surely see them soon sharing quality content in this broad ecosystem.
I am very happy and grateful for everything I have told you. This experience has motivated me to continue in the library and to relate more with people related to the culture of the state, to be useful to the community and to organize more events like the one we did on Saturday, March 18.
So, Thank you, Hive! Thank you, Hive Valencia!
Thanks to you I have found a new home where every day I learn and little by little I form myself as a writer, content creator and blogger. Thanks to you I have a new group of friends with whom I hope to continue growing, sharing and achieving great things, because what we have achieved so far is just the beginning. Thanks to all these experiences the word "community" now has more weight in my life, and this would not have been possible if the platform did not exist. For this and many more reasons:

Sé muy bien como puede costar salir de una burbuja, te entiendo tanto, en ese particular me siento identificada contigo, y también en que me gusta estar sola y me cuesta andar en grupos, sin embargo, mucha veces cuando nos abrimos a esas experiencias resultan muy gratificantes y enriquecedoras, tal como te sucedió, me alegro que así sea, se nota que la pasaron de maravilla.
Sin duda, es mejor romper esas barreras y disfrutar de la compañía.
