I'm back again participating in the Let's Make a Collage ("LMAC") weekly contest. For this Round #132, we again have as an inspiring starting point a castle image. I want to share my collage theme utilizing this structure as fortress for lost souls yearning to be set free.
To create the setting, I started with the photograph provided by @shaka in his contest post: Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 132 - ✨158 HIVE in the Prize Pool!

COLLAGE: Journey From the Castle
In my first collage theme, I wanted to portray a lost soul who has been captured and imprisoned in a remote castle. While there, he lost all hope until he was allowed access to a window. Upon seeing a silhouette in the sky of an angel he remembered worshiping his youth, he was again inspired to find a way to escape. With the help of outsiders, he was set free. Once freed, he set out on to find his the image in the skyline. But obstacles lay in his path. He must first venture through the darkness in order to emerge on the other side into the light where his redemption from past deeds is waiting.
To create the collage, I utilized as my primary image my own fractal I created of a dark web-like structure. It is meant to signify the dark shadows. I felt it was an appropriate image to convey the unknown. This pure fractal was created in Apophysis 2.09, a fractal rendering program.

Pairing these two images created the mysterious, but haunting background:
I then uploaded into Canva my fractal, the contest image of the castle, an interesting cave structure with an opening, and other images I located at the LIL that fit perfectly with my theme.

Actually it is a mysterious background, I already want to do some research on that application to create fractals. A topic that has caught my attention for some time. The motif of your photo montage is the best and I think that in those medieval castles many stories that were not told and have not reached their destination must be engraved in their passages.
