For my current mixed media art project, I discovered an awesome monochrome image of frogs. Immediately, I knew I'd create a collage design for a swamp. You can see the image of the horde of frogs sitting in all directions. I included one of my pure fractals I designed in the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X.
I titled my project "Swamp Things". Below are my steps:
I utilized Canva, my design program, to blend the different type images. I leave with you my procedures which begin with a blank, white canvas. I then add layers of elements in accordance with my upgraded Annual Pro Membership that includes tools to remove backgrounds, resize, filter, duplicate, and reposition items as required.
Perhaps of all the tools, the ability to remove backgrounds thereby creating transparencies of the images is crucial to the blending process.
To a blank canvas, I added the frog monochrome landscape;
Colorized the frog landscape to a soft azure then duplicated it to fill the entire canvas to be used as the background of my scene;
Added the male image to the skyline. Removed its background and resized the image;
Added the rock landscape image to the middle of the scene. duplicated it to fit on each side; then resized and positioned them.
Added the female image to the landscape in the water. Removed her background, resized and positioned her in the water;
Added the gears to her left eye and the eye image to her right eye for effect;
Added flowers and my pure fractal to the female's wrist;
Added the marine life and bird to the scene. Remove backgrounds, where needed, then positioned them around the canvas in available space for visibility.
This completed the project.
