Steemjet has one vision which is 'Global Adoption Of Steem'. We encourage and support people's talents both on the blockchain and those geared towards Steem promotion outside the Steem blockchain. Steemjet's love for talents and Steem promotion activities was why we supported the Steemcamp event and also have the Steemjet CEO, pilot and @yungchief in attendance from Day 4 of the event to Day 8 which was the final.
The previous week witnessed one of Nigeria's biggest Steem promotion event, which is the @steemcamp grand finale hosted by @michaelcj and supported by @steemjet, @wafrica, @steemnaira, @adsactly-witness @donkeypong @surfyogi @ehiboss @sircork @wa4 @destinysaid @youarehope @steemhelpinghand and many others on the Steem blockchain.
As a supporter, and a promoter of steem which is our aim, we represented the Steemjet community at the grand finale and we must say it was a success.
The CEO and Pilot Traveled From Abuja to the southern city of Warri in Delta state where the event was hosted. We arrived on Wednesday 4th July which happens to be the 4th day of the camping event while @yungchief, a Steemjet delegate and supporter of talent initiatives, joined us on Friday 6th of July. So our reports will cover events from the fifth day which we attended. On arrival, we met with other communities representatives like @prettyjules158, @chiama, @phunke, and @Stevendion.
On Thursday been the next day, we all visited the orphanage home with the contestants. But first, we all had to visit the Shoprite mall in Warri to get some items to add as a support to what the steemcamp officals and contestants were giving.
St Anne's Orphanage Warri was the home we visited. Too bad we visited them during their sleeping hours but we were given the opportunity to walk in and see them in their sleeping beds. Most of the kids are physically disabled, some were abandoned and had to be brought to the home for proper support. As part of government restrictions, photographs of the children cannot be taken except with special clearance from the ministry of women affairs and social welfare. The Steemcamp purpose was not attached to photographs but instead the sharing of gifts items to support the home.
Friday 6th was tagged 'clean up Warri'. Cleanliness is next to Godliness as we all know and Keeping our city clean is a way of showing that cleanliness really matters to us all, so we all felt for the street of Warri to clean up the environment. The organizers and contestants went round the city for a couple of hours picking off dirt helping keep the city clean.
his in itself was a great way of promoting Steem in the city of Warri, as many people who saw the work done and the Steem t-shirts asked a couple of questions about Steem and how they can participate.
Later during the day was the pool party.
After a long hectic day cleaning up the streets, we all needed a little party for "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". For the pool party, the indoor pool at Manuex Place was used to host the event. With support from WAfrica community, a dance competition was organized and three winners selected who got some cash prizes to take home.
Saturday 7th which was the Day7 of the event was all about the Steem Conference /Blockchain Workshop which had other great personalities like @nairadaddy, @destinysaid, @ehiboss @xpency @illuminatus, I, @uche-nna, and the pilot of steemjet community @lordjames speaking.
