So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the second topic for this week which is “CUMPULSORY CHECK-UP”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic which was “HELICOPTER PARENTING”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community sharing with us their thoughts on helicopter parenting and the effect it could have on children. Parents who constantly hover around their children, trying to control everything about them will only end up harming them more than they’re helping.
We got to see the different ways such extremities could be curtailed. It all comes down to balance. Knowing when to get involved and also when to take a backseat so that the children can fight their battles themselves and make their own mistakes. Balance is what is most important. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.

For this author, he shared with us the effects that strict and controlling parenting had on his childhood and how it came to shape him as an adult. He believes that kids should be allowed to be loud and free to express themselves while also learning that decisions can come with consequences. For this, it would always be best to start early.

For this author, he believes that once children are mature enough to make certain choices on their own, they should be allowed to make them.
