Proposals that I don't support:
$52,925/year Hivewatchers
$255,500/year Peakd open projects
$49,275/year Hivesql
$83,950/year Actifit
$144,936/6 months DBuzz
$219,000/year Keychain
$127,750/year Honeycomb
$204,400/2 years Hivebuzz
$241,065/1.5 years Leofinance
$121,110/year dev proposal by howo
$1.5 million in total
And there is a new proposal coming up, $365,085/6 months called CrossDEX
More than 1.86 million US dollars in total.
The proposals listed above are mostly paid out and they will pay out fully from the looks of it.
I do not agree with this kind of spending.
DHF has been paying out roughly $2 million a year if not more.
For comparison, Justin Sun paid $4.5 million for Steemit inc. and all their property.
I'm just stating the facts and saying how it is.
What I think would be the good use of money:
- Funding and expanding the core dev team i.e. blocktrades
- HBD listing on exchanges and staking reward trackers
- Twitter/X subscription for more exposure and promoting tweets
- Creating better interface for hive.io
- Trying to fix the information on coingecko and coinmarketcap - money might fix it
It's not doom and gloom but it could be way better. I just don't think we can keep going like this forever.
A bit of proper Twitter and youtube marketing I guess wouldn't hurt...
Was wondering why the blocktrades team hasn't made a proposal in forever for all the work they've done, I'd rather see that being funded as well compared to many of the ones above.
In my opinion DHF shouldn't work as a continous support for projects and more like a incubator for new things. Otherwise we have very unhealthy incentive structure.
Somehow during the old chain times all the projects were developed without DHF support. It's much more compeling situatiion, when there is motivation coming from the promise of the future HIVE appreciation.
From the other hand fund such as DHF might be crucial during the extended bear market periods, otherwise we'd end up with projects quiting.
I think this apparent start of the bull market is a good time to start a serious conversation about DHF. Also I'd love to see cumulative HP stake of key actors involved in projects next to proposals. I know, it's publicly available info. I'd be much more motivated to vote for people with higher stake in Hive.
The last point is very true 👍🏻
Setting priorities and improving also on the bridges to Web2 (X etc.) are good points. We need strong development teams if we want to make it into the Top 100 cryptos again and a focused project pipeline sponsored by DHF. Will review my votes accordingly in the coming weeks.
Fully agree.
I think that many projects use DHF Proposals to nullify their own risk in their own projects, which is just wrong in my oppinion.
I think Keychain is the only one from your list that I would approve a big sum of money to, because at least from my POV that application is used by almost every Hivean I speak to, but others could probably cut 50% of the support.
Exactly what I'm thinking..
Even wrote some questions about this upcoming proposal but got some AI answers.

Hope this „no personal risk“ proposal are not funded, even though i like the idea.
There was a post by @knowhow92 (link included) about the need for a third party to make reports on funded proposals to make sure that the money is being used wisely. Though this doesn't fix your main concern about how and what is funded. I think it is a step in the right direction.

I Support HiveSQL because I use it.
Maybe to much, but how much would be enough?
What do you Support?
I support the Ecency proposal. Open source multi platform UI.
I'm with you on blocktrades getting funded if they started building tools for devs to use and make the blockchain more attractive to other projects to build.
And these.
Form the first list above keychain is essential to the eco-system and should be funded. Apart from that i an on the fecnce for leo and peakd. The rest no.
Peakd should be running ads and funding itself at this stage of their development.
For any other project to get funded i think that there should be a proper proposal with regular updates, targets to meet and show how the money is being spent accountable to the community.
LEO have done this and so have the community fund from guiltyparties. Other than that nothing. Lots of money out with no trace of how it's being used or what it is achieving.
Peakd proposal is not for peakd. It is another proposal aimed at multiple projects. That proposal is going to run for years because we already invested we might as well go full in. This is the second proposal I think.
What did you mean by this?
For example https://www.stakingrewards.com/ shows cryptos that you can stake and earn interest.
Hey @mahdiyari , thanks for the input regarding DHF funding. As a core developer on Hive for years, I'd appreciate if you stopped by my latest post where I'm suggesting a solution for a more transparent and healthy Hive Fund and leave your feedback. It might be a solution to the DHF drama we're going through for years.
Converting a decentralized system to a centralized system is not the solution.
All decentralized systems have centralized entities contributing to them. Much like projects getting funded by the DHF to build, what I suggested is a team funded by the DHF to bring more clarity and transparency between funded projects and the community.
Thanks for this post! We may agree or not on some of the proposals, but these conversations need to take place. As do others. Debates are good for a decentralized ecosystem.
It's important to note, that after reading the comments, you are not against all those projects, but rather disagree with the prices paid. With lower prices, your "against" list could be shorter...
I was also wondering why Blocktrades stopped creating a proposal for the DHF funding.
This may be wasted funding, given the likely regulations against algo stablecoins that will come.
I have nothing against that.
I know there is a push in this direction with X. It's my impression some Hivers started to become active there and stopped being active on Hive, which isn't good, in my opinion.
Sure, things can always be improved here. Not to mention that an update of the interface will be picked up by the search engines too.
If that would also make them take into consideration the API for our internal market, so that our prices on the aggregators don't fully depend on our listings on CEXes, then maybe it's an option to pay to get things done.
We need discussion forums and wiki pages. Then we could have much better discussions and collaboration here on hive. Most projects rely on Discord for their communications but that is just a chat room. Hive is so decentralized that there is no centralized way to communicate and learn and ask questions about all the projects . A forum for each community would give us a place to make posts in a way that allows continued communication and then a wiki page to add the most important info.
Not even Keychain??
Not $220k per year.
Alright, I don't know what a Dev's salary is and or how many people their have x)
Guess it depends on on the country
