TODAY, I SWEAR TO START COOKING OR PREPARING MY OWN FOOD!
Hi, Steemheads!
Today, in Facebook, @jacinta.sevilla tagged me in a post about the benefits of cucumber and it reminded me of how I want to start to cook and prepare my own food. If you know me, you probably know that I have stage 5 kidney failure. My 2 kidneys are too far gone and that's why I depend on a machine to live, a dialysis machine.
One reason why I got this ill was the food I ate for a decade. I lived alone and ate mostly takeouts and fastfoods loaded with crap. Now, 2 years or so after being on dialysis, I need to eat healthy to prolong what's left of me. So, this is a start.
Other than for health reasons, I also want to save the money I spend for buying food outside. I am certain I want to adopt the Mamanwa tribe we visited (the topic of my Day 1 post) so, I need to have a portion of everything I earn and I save and also for my upcoming transplant. There's a lot of people out there that needs help, we should think about helping.
(My boyfriend told me I should not make long posts because they're too lengthy to read so I'll make this quick.)
For today, I had the usual family prepared meals, mainly fish and rice and some veggies. I managed to make my snacks which was just coleslaw sandwich. We have a lot of mangoes in our backyard so I made mango float, too. I did not cook anything because cooking is something I will have to figure out yet.
As to aesthetics or how to make food look lovely in pictures, I'll have to figure it out. I am currently doing all this in my worktable or my workbench and I love how it has this green leaf table cloth or whatever you call it. So, this is one of my Green goals for this year, TO COOK OR PREPARE MY OWN HEALTHY FOOD!
This post is just 2nd of 365 posts I will do the whole year, dedicated to going Green and sharing Humanity. If you think you wanna make a similar challenge to yourself, of course, you can join and do the same thing, too!
Join me, in my 2019 journey. Thanks for reading and I hope we all can share in Steemit the little things we learn in life as we go along. I wish you all to have a meaningful and prosperous new year!

Thanks! It would be nice if this becomes a hype or everyone have their own version of it.
I did not know that you were so sick. You always spread love and happy here at Steemit and that is very good of you.
We will also change how we eat in 2019 and try to eat less meat and more "green" stuff.
I join you in your journey 2019 and wish you a lot of luck.
(some days I have so diffucullt to think and write in english but I think you understand what I want to say)
Thanks, I actually did not have any idea before that you weren't non-English speaker, I only knew when I read your location. I never had problems understanding your English, you communicate pretty well, to be honest. Yes, we all need to eat healthy, it's really tough being sick. How I wish this was just a phase but sadly it's with me for life already, even if I go through a kidney transplant. Not to mention how the treatment costs so much money, that in itself is painful to think about.
We should eat healthy, not just for ourselves but for the people we love. Thanks for dropping by @minimining. Happy New Year!
I like your colourgame. most because it helps small accounts to grow. Can I help it to grow with a donation of 10 SM-cards? I not sure how but if you want some cards - just tell me. I will not collect more cards to my deck.
