Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
These are not my words, but the Words of Jesus. Many are saying that they are waiting for God to send them to do something when God has no reason to tell you to do something He has already said to do in His Word.
It is not the “Great Suggestion”, but the GREAT COMMISSION and every believer is to be doing their part in this.

Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Vs 14 Jesus is telling us that we are the light of the world. Verse 16 we are to let our lights shine before men.
I hear some say that they show Christ with their lives and don’t share their faith with words. This is a nice, feel good notion, but it is forgetting, Jesus was a man of Words. Jesus is the Word that became flesh. If we are going to be like Jesus, we must also speak too.
Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
It is God’s Word that converts a soul!
Years ago, when I was first born again, I wanted to tell everyone about Jesus. I was frustrated when I had no place to do so. When actually there is always an opportunity, perhaps not like we envisioned. I started to look at every person in my life as someone I was supposed to shine my light. Not preaching or pushing the Gospel, but always ready to share a Word or God’s Love with everyone.
My congregation became:
- The waiter where I at lunch
- The person who pumped my gas when refueling my car.
- My coworkers
- My neighbors
- My family
Then I asked myself, “If Jesus lived in my city and He was launching out in His earthly ministry, where would He go and what would he do?
Jesus taught in the temple, but many times He was found with the publican and sinner.
Jesus was not engaging in their sin, but shining a Light in a dark place. Much of the recorded life of Jesus, was for the sole purpose to show us by His example, what He wanted His followers to do. I don’t think you can be one of the buddies and out drinking with the drunkards and expect to win people to Christ. This is actually how you hide your light under a bushel. A follower of Jesus with a foul mouth, living in drunkenness is fully hiding their light.
As I asked where Jesus would be and what would He be doing where I lived, I began to go to the jails, hospitals, retirement homes and on the street where the prostitute, drug addicts, gang members and the homeless were.
We are too busy shining our light in the light, when a light was meant to shine in and dispel darkness.
If the only place we are truly shining our light is when we are with other believers, we will never effect this dark world.
Today I am asking the exact same question! Jesus, if you were here, in the flesh, today. If you were headed into your earthly ministry. Where would you go and what would you do or say?

I have always said that, we must be an example to follow, we must bear witness to the word through our behaviors, through our words. We can not say that God is love when we lead a life of bitterness and we say words of condemnation, how we could reflect light with negative attitudes?. If we really live the word, we must be light and to be salt of earth!
