Welcome to my blog
God bless you!
I extended my hands all day to the rebellious people, who are walking in a bad way, following their thoughts.
Isaiah 65: 2
It pleased the Father that all fullness should dwell in him, and through him he would reconcile all things to himself ... making peace through the blood of his cross.
Colossians 1: 19-20
Perhaps there is nothing more opposed to our natural thoughts than reconciliation as described in the Bible. How amazing it is that God, the great God of heaven and earth, is waiting for our yes to forgive us! What a difference with what happens between human beings! It seems normal that the initiative for reconciliation comes from who acted wrong. He should apologize, present his apologies and, if possible, repair the damage. Often each one recognizes their part of error and thus the problem is solved.
But between God and men it is very different! God himself is the reconciler, that is, he takes the initiative and pays the damages.
Although he has always extended his hand to men, they have not always listened, because they are a "rebellious people". The unbelieving man is indifferent to God, even hostile, but God approaches each one of us. If I accept to take his hand, I discover that he loves me and that he wants to change my hostility for his love. How is it possible? Through the death of his Son! When Jesus was crucified, He bore our hostility and our estrangement from God; then he resurrected. Jesus destroyed the barrier of our sins, which stood between us and God.
The reconciliation that the death of Christ produced becomes effective for everyone who accepts it. It does not rest on an improvement of their behavior, but on the work fulfilled by Jesus once for all on the cross.
In not all situations it is easy to be fair; nevertheless, the Bible inculcates us to be so even when it seems complex. Sometimes this means setting aside our own comforts and doing the right thing.
We must always remember that justice is applied based on love, because God acts with us in the same way. We must also differentiate justice from revenge. The first one causes an issue to be terminated, while the second only causes more pain and causes the wound to deepen.
Being merciful means that we must be willing to forgive and be compassionate to others. This is the way Jesus acts, and therefore we must do it too. We can show mercy in small daily acts with the people around us. These actions will say much more than any speech we can say.
To humble ourselves before God is to recognize his greatness and let him act in our lives. When this happens, we can impact others with our example. So let's not neglect our relationship with God, and keep constant communication with Him through prayer and reading the Bible.
"You have been told what is good! You have already been told what the Lord expects of you: to practice justice, to love mercy, and to humble yourself before your God. " - Micah 6: 8
