Invest in Yourself, Not Only in Cryptos!

I have seen that many people who have gotten involved in blockchain and cryptocurrencies have fallen off the map with the recent declines in market values of most assets. It seems that many have given up on the potential of blockchain technology despite the continued announcements of many large companies and organizations whom are interesting in the technology given the efficiencies and benefits that can be created by implementing them. This is probably mostly related to most getting involved for the wrong reasons in the first place; trying to get rich quick. Despite many warning signs that any “get rich quick” idea is either a scam, not legal, or just not correct; many jumped in without the proper research.

I have taken the approach to learn more about the technology in order to apply the knowledge to make me a better capital allocator when the technology starts to pick up. At worst, I will also have the knowledge for my professional career as the technology is broad enough to impact most industries in existence today. In addition to reading articles and books, I have continued to learn about the technology from great community members here on #Steemit. There are many sources of information here that not only provide great facts but also many opinions and perspectives that help you create your own to use in your decision process. This is a great time to continue learning as the next great opportunity is definitely out there to find.

I recently saw an email from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) whom are offering an online webcast to introduce Blockchain fundamentals to Accounting and Finance Professionals. They are also providing digital badges (not sure if they are on a blockchain but would have been a great opportunity, right?) for those who complete the course. This is a great example of how to continue learning in the space while also adding to your career potential. The learning objectives are quite interesting as well:

Sounds like a great program to experience! Look forward to your thoughts on the course and learnings.

I hope the program is informative! I am definitely a lifelong learner. As far as blockchain learning goes, after initial internet study, I started reading The Age of Cryptocurrency (well, listening to it on audiobook). I'm almost done with it now, been taking it slow - I used to listen to audiobooks nonstop but haven't been as much lately. After it is done though, I have the newer followup written by the same people already downloaded waiting in the wings. :)

Great to hear! Technology continues to provide us great ways to learn and participate in knowledge acquisition; we need to take advantage of it as much as we can. I listen to a number of podcasts when I am on long drives or trips and when I am working out.

When I was really listening to a lot of audiobooks, I would go and borrow CDs from the library. So I'd be out walking around with my old school CD walkman and got a few comments from people who were laughing and joking how hipster I was. I was like, "This is how I borrow audiobooks from the library. I've had this CD walkman for like twenty years. Can't afford to buy all the books I want to read." Then they were like ...oh. Seriously, folks, if it still works, why wouldn't you use it? These are the people who probably think "no one goes to libraries anymore."

Great post. Blockchain will be as revolutionary as electricity.

Great message and I agree about learning about blockchain technology because it's going to disrupt all industries....and knowledge will be the competitive advantage.

Good luck with the program! Well worth the money.

Thanks for the info. Very interesting, worth exploring. Learning about this platform and cryptos in general is one of the things I'd like to do. Some things are at the moment beyond my understanding, others i know require time and study.
