The introduction of compter based learning in schools have greatly evolved and improved the way in which students learn. No more stress of too much things on the chalk or white board, as everything has been digitalized, all thanks to technology. Learning has been made easier, less stresful, and less time consuming.
In the midst of all these positivities and good impact to the academic system, there is a handful, probably more than a handful of disadvantages allowing a kid to bring their phones to school.
Inarguably, it is important to make learning easy and fast for the students, but when you think of it from another perspective, it is not all that good.
AI has taken over, literally everything in our world today. Ranging from art to coding, Artificial intelligence is gradually dominating the technological space at large.
Its good to allow student to carry their phones to school for easy learning, but then, there are too many distractions that may come up. Example, a student may be learning with their teachers and decide to navigate out of what they are learning to go and do something else.
The use of artificial intelligence will make a student very lazy. They will not want to study for tests because they have their gadget to rely on. The concept of research will be lost because instead of working hard and going to diverse sites to make research, they will just gpt their way through and get answers without proper citations, and references.
I remember when i was writing my final exams, Nursing and Midwiifery Council Qualifying exams. Inarguably, there was a lot of tension which condensed the air around me.
I could not talk to anyone, let alone do any course representative duties cause' all my mind was to read and pass. I was busy reading inbetween lines so as not to miss anything. Sometimes, i had to read one line twice or three times because the tension did not allow me grab it the first time.
Something made me turn, and i saw other schools, they were laughing and smiling as if they are not for the exams, little did i know they had a trick or should i say, a trumpcard up their sleeves.
Everyone was directed to their respective computer (the exams was computer based. 30 minutes into the exams, i saw phones flying up and down. One of the phones even fell down, and the supervisor saw it but she did not say anything. At that moment, i realized why they paid no mind to their books because of the exams.
Honestly, i was disappointed at the supervisor, but what can I say? When i think of it, i am burning candles at night, stressing my eyes and brain to assimilate while burning more calories than i take in, but there is somebody that will just give One naira or two to the supervisor and they get to do whatever they want in the exams hall. It broke my heart ya'know.
This is more reason why phones should not be allowed in schools. it makes the students academically lazy.

I agree with your explanation, it is very inappropriate if school children are allowed to bring smartphones into the classroom, even though now learning in the audah system is starting to run, children will damage their brains if this is left unchecked, parents of students are not able to cope with the whole to their students, because it will be very difficult with a large number of students in one class.
if this goes unchecked, it will cause great harm to the children. School authorities should look into this case
As much as I support the use of technology in impacting learners, giving learners to personal smartphones have changed the face of learning across the globe.
Phones makes the learners easily distracted. I am of the view that the policy of allowing learners to use phones during school sessions should be revisited if we must save education.
Students should be strictly monitor if there is need to give them a gadget.

Making use of computers and AI tools is a big disappointment to the students and to the educational systems. The student should burn their candles at night and study to great results. Using AI or phones is not something they should think about. It wouldn't help.

Using of phone by students should be banned in school because it will reduce the academic performance of the students the will lack concentration during classes
