The beginning of the second stage was officially the shelter in Soszów Wielki, but in fact we stopped for the night about 400 meters further and almost 100 meters lower than the shelter in Soszów Wielki. For this reason, on the second day after waking up, eating and taking care of our luggage, when we finally set off, we had a arduous hike along the ski slope before returning to the Main Beskid Trail. This meant that when we got to the starting point of the second stage, we already had a pretty good climb in our legs.
We were lucky because the route was arranged in such a way that, just like on the first day, after about an hour and a half of hiking, we reached the PTTK Stożek shelter, where we planned a second breakfast of apple pie and coffee. The PTTK shelter on Stożek is the oldest shelter in the Silesian Beskids. Its history dates back to 1920 and is associated with the Polish Tourist Association "Beskid" in Cieszyn, which initiated the construction of this facility. When we reached the shelter and saw its outline from a distance, we were in great shock, because the icicles hanging from the roof of the shelter were probably the largest icicles my eyes had ever seen. It was quite crowded in the shelter and I have no idea where it came from, it was quite early in the morning and there was almost no one on the trail. Later it turned out that only a few dozen meters behind the shelter there is the upper station of the ski lift, so even though the PTTK Stożek shelter is located high in the mountains right next to the Polish-Czech border, access to it is child's play thanks to the ski lift.

Początkiem drugiego etapu oficjalnie było schronisko na Soszowie Wielkim, ale tak naprawdę zatrzymaliśmy się na noc jakieś 400 metrów dalej i niemal 100 metrów niżej niż położone jest schronisko na Soszowie Wielkim. Z tego to powodu drugiego dnia po obudzeniu się, posileniu i ogarnięciu naszych bagaży, gdy wreszcie ruszyliśmy to przed powrotem na Główny Szlak Beskidzki czekała na nas mozolna wędrówka wzdłuż stoku narciarskiego. Sprawiło to, że gdy znaleźliśmy się w punkcie startowym drugiego etapu, mieliśmy już w nogach całkiem dobre podejście.
Mieliśmy szczęście, ponieważ trasa tak się ułożyła, że podobnie jak pierwszego dnia już po około półtorej godziny wędrówki na naszej trasie znajdowało się schronisko PTTK Stożek, gdzie zaplanowaliśmy sobie drugie śniadanie w postaci szarlotki i kawy. Schronisko PTTK na Stożku jest najstarszym schroniskiem znajdującym się w Beskidzie Śląskim. Jego historia sięga roku 1920 i wiąże się z Polskim Towarzystwem Turystycznym „Beskid” w Cieszynie, które to zainicjowało budowę tego obiektu. Gdy dotarliśmy do schroniska i zobaczyliśmy jego zarys z oddali byliśmy pod wielkim wrzeniem, ponieważ lodowe sople wiszące z dachu schroniska były chyba największymi soplami jakie kiedykolwiek moje oczy widziały. W schronisku było dość tłoczno i nie mam pojęcia skąd to się wzięło, przecież była dość wczesna pora, a na szlaku nie było prawie nikogo. Później okazało się że zaledwie kilkadziesiąt metrów za schroniskiem znajduje się górna stacja wyciągu narciarskiego, toteż mimo że Schronisko PTTK Stożek położone jest wysoko w górach przy samej granicy Polsko-czeskiej to dzięki wyciągowi dostęp do niego jest dziecinnie prosty.

The highest point of our second stage was the Kiczory peak, 990 m above sea level. Climbing to the peak from the western side, we passed quite a large group of sandstone rocks in the form of mushroom rocks. It was the first attraction of this type encountered on the Main Beskid Trail, but certainly not the last. From my previous stays in the mountains, I know that the entire Barania Góra, i.e. the target of the next stage, will be completely covered with such rock formations. From Kiczory Peak was the highest point we reached during this stage of the hike. Now all we had to do was descend to the Mrążnica clearing, where we said goodbye to the red trail and followed the blue trail straight to the Wisła Głębce railway station. When we arrived at the station, we still had about 45 minutes left before the train departed, but luckily the driver was understanding and after over two and a half hours of freezing, we could finally warm up and finish the second stage of the march along the Main Beskid Trail.

Najwyższym punktem naszego drugiego etapu był szczyt Kiczory liczący 990m nad poziomem morza. Wchodząc na szczyt od zachodniej strony mijaliśmy całkiem pokaźny zespół skał piaskowca w formie grzybów skalnych. Była to pierwsza tego typu atrakcja napotkania na trasie Głównego Szlaku Beskidzkiego, ale z pewnością nie ostatnia. Z poprzednich moich pobytów w górach wiem, że cała Barania Góra, czyli cel kolejnego etapu będzie szczelnie pokryta takimi formacjami skalnymi. Od Szczyt Kiczory był najwyższym punktem jaki osiągnęliśmy podczas tego etapu wędrówki. Teraz czekało na nas tylko zejście na polanę Mraźnica gdzie pożegnaliśmy się z czerwonym szlakiem i kierowaliśmy się po niebieskim szlaku wprost na stacje kolejową Wisła Głębce. Gdy dotarliśmy na stacje do odjazdu pociągu zostało nam jeszcze około 45 minut zapasu, ale całe szczęście maszynista wykazał się wyrozumiałością i po przeszło dwóch i pół godzinie marznięcia mogliśmy się wreszcie zagrzać i zakończyć drugi etap marszu wzdłuż Głównego Szlaku Beskidzkiego.

Małe sprostowanie odnośnie schroniska na Stożku: jest ono najstarszym POLSKIM, nieprzerwanie istniejącym, schroniskiem w całych Beskidach (zbudowane w 1922r). Najstarszym schroniskiem w ogóle jest to na Szyndzielni. Zbudowane w 1897r. przez niemieckie stowarzyszenie Beskidenverein działa nieprzerwanie od 126 lat.

What a wonderful walk up, exhausting under the conditions, so rewarding seeing your photography, this looks like Christmas Season with the snow laying deep already. Icicles part of the decor, lovely little dog looking confused.
