For a beginner of Steemit writing a blog may seem pretty easy but making it popular and earning a decent amount of reward money from it seems awfully difficult. It is how I felt when I first joined Steemit. Even until today many of my blogs fail to get a decent amount of upvote and reward money.
I used to think that I will never get more than 5 or 6 upvote and earn a good amount of Steem or SBD from any of my blog. I thought I would be stuck with that situation. But later I found out that I was wrong as some of my blogs were getting noticed by people and I have earned a good amount of reward money from those blogs.
Writing for steemit is never easy especially when you are new to steemit. There are many people who leave the platform after getting frustrated to see that no matter how hard they try none of their blogs gets a good amount of rewards or response from people. So I have decided to write this blog for those who are suffering from the same situation.
I am not saying that some magic will happen and your blogs will make more than $100 of reward money if you read it. I am just saying that if you read this blog then it may help you to understand how you can do better with your blogs in steemit.
Stop overthinking, just be yourself
Steemit is for everyone. As long as you have something interesting and genuine to share people will love to read it. So don’t sweat by trying to write something that you don’t feel confident about. I have seen people making good amount money by sharing simple and interesting stories about their personal life while some people are struggling to find any audience after writing a long and informative article. It is not necessary for you to be a blockchain or cryptocurrency expert in order to publish a blog in steemit.
Just write anything you want to write about. Don’t try to copy-paste and publish article that you find in some other website because that kind of activity will lead you nowhere in steemit. The only thing you will get by doing those kinds of stuff is getting flagged by people.
Don’t feel frustrated by the trending posts
I used to get so depressed by seeing the trending posts of steemit because they show up with high amount of reward money while I failed make a cent from my blogs. But after spending a couple of months in steemit I came to learn that, the post I see in the trending list actually made a place in there because of promotion services. The author of those posts mostly makes their post trending buying upvote from different post promotion services.
Just keep doing what you love to do. Sooner or later people you will find that people are reading your blogs and don’t care about the blogs which you see in the trending list.
Don’t run too short on words
Some people complain that they fail to get any upvote or comment on their blogs. But after visiting their blogs I have found that there is nothing in their blogs for which people would upvote or comment on their blog. It is something many people fail to understand about their post. Steemit is a micro-blogging platform but that doesn’t mean you get to make a post with a single image or single line.
I have seen plenty of people make a post by posting a picture of a dish they have cooked and writing a single line like:
"Here is the pizza I have made."
Now if you are doing the same thing please stop doing that immediately. Try to be more descriptive and share some story that people would love to read and appreciate. Like, share the recipe of the pizza which you have just made or the funny thing which happened while you were making that pizza. It something people will love to read and you will see that your blogs are getting more upvote and comment from people.
Pay attention to editing and formatting
No matter whether you are an expert blogger or not it is always advised that you keep your blogs clean and error free and this notion applies to steemit also. People from steemit won’t judge you for making some minor grammatical or spelling mistake. Still, it will create a bad impression of you to your audience. It is why I think it is always necessary to review your blogs and make sure that it is well revised and looks fine. Putting tiny or broken images, not using header tags for highlighting the subtitles and making plenty of typos and spelling mistakes are some of the things you should always check for before publishing a blog.
Don’t forget to spice up and promote your post in Discord
Many bloggers of steemit create attractive banners, headers and graphic materials for their blogs which attracts more audience to their blogs. Using relevant images, illustration and graphic materials may often make your blogs fun and interesting to read. After writing a blog you may also promote it in different discord servers or community which will help you to get some extra upvote from people.
Be patient and build a regular habit of publishing
Now as I have said before following the above tips and tricks may not always seem to be effective within a few days of applying. But if you be patient and keep following them you will see that your blogs are doing at least a little better than they used to do before. Building audience and making your blogs noticed by people from steemit is not an easy task. It is something that you won’t be able to do within a day or two unless you already have a firm idea about how everything works in steemit.
Building a regular habit of writing for steemit will help you to understand how to craft your blogs for the steemit audience and once you get used to it then you will see that people are paying attention to your blogs more often than they used to do before.
