It was a perfect day to try something spicy and delicious. It has been raining since last two days and being Sunday I decides to cook something special, something different and it boils down to Pasta and that too with a twist. I tried to give it a paneer taste. And it went down nicely.
Pasta can help us feel full longer. It can be made with many different sauces, vegetables, nuts, fish, and poultry. But in my cases it all restricted to veggies only. In my opinion this is why it is one of the most affordable item. Pasta is made from inexpensive ingredients. I made it using, ***Onion ,Capscicum, Tomatoes 🍅 *** only. There was a time, when I used to enjoy pasta at restaurant and end up paying heavy bills. But now, cooking them at homes make much sense. The pasta chunks are available at many stores and I bought one too. I boil them for 5-10 minutes to make them softer.
Pasta has alwsys considered to be a food items that belongs from junk family. But eating them once or twice is not a harm. Especially when it is cooked at home. Eating these outside may ask for problem but with home ingredients it is quite safe. Pasta is a good source of carbohydrates, which provides the body with energy. If it's made from whole grain, it can also give us fiber, which can help with few stomach problems and may help lower cholesterol. It is importsnt to learn little history of this food item.
The word "pasta" comes from the Italian word for "paste", which is a combination of flour and water. The first known reference to pasta was in Sicily in 1154, but there are indications that pasta was made as early as the 4th century B.C There are over 600 pasta shapes produced worldwide, and some varieties are uniquely regional. The most popular types are penne, spaghetti, and macaroni.
To begin cooking pasta, so early in the day was challenging, but the rainy weather outside have tempted me to start tye day with a spicy sunday treat to myself. I made use of
- A onion
- 1 Capscicum
- 1 Tomatoes
- 2 green chillies.
I chopped them into small pieces and start frying in oil.
I made use of 2 spoon of edible oil. And begin with Onion and Capscicum. They take longer to fry. Once they rurn little gooden in colour, I have added the chopped Tomatoes to the mix.
Pasta is simple to make, even for beginners, and is easy to clean up. I keep frying all the ingredients, avaoiding it to be deep fried. Else we will lose the veggies taste. We will add, Salt as per taste.
To make it more spcier, I made use of the spices in random quantity. It included the
- Muttor panner spices
- Turmeric
- Red chilli powder
We mix them properly with the veggies and keep frying for a while. Untill all the spices fried properly.
Once the items fried properly, I have added a cup of water to it and let them to boil for few minutes. This will allow all the spices to mix properly with water and make a spicy syrup.
I left them to boils for 2-3 minutes. I covered the lid for quick results. The next step includes adding the boiled "pasta" to the boiled spicy syrup. I have boiled the pasta seperately, as shown in begining of the post. The pasta needed to be mixed properly.
Once mixed and cooked for few more minutes, our special spicy veggie pasta is ready to be served hot. Take them out in a plate and savor the taste.
Pasta recipe can be quickly made at home. Pasta can make people feel happy, and is associated with family sharing and friendship. The act of tasting and savoring pasta can stimulate positive memories and emotions. And so does me enjoyed my Sunday lunch with rest of the family member. Hope you enjoyed the pasta cooking.

It looks very tasty and I hope it tastes just as good. By the way, if you had used Smith & Jones pasta masala instead of paneer masala, it would have tasted better. But as you said, you needed to add paneer flavor to it, so you might have used paneer masala but for the paneer flavor, you would have had to add paneer to it😂🤣.
By the way, you have made pasta very healthy because after using vegetables, many nutrients are added to it which take it far away from the category of junk food. We have both pasta and macaroni here, but here most people like to eat macaroni. I don't know, but it happens to me that if I make pasta and macaroni with the same ingredients like vegetables and other species, then I find macaroni more delicious instead of pasta😃.
