This Hunt’s Theme: Santa and Elves.
Who is Santa anyway?
The Santa I know from my youth is the rotund jolly man in the red suit, with the long white whiskers. He lives at the North Pole with Mrs. Santa Claus and numerous elves and gnomes. Nine magical reindeer that lead his sleigh on Christmas night are also kept there.
Santa is also a magical being and has the ability to know if you have been good or bad all year.
With the help of the elves he spends all year making toys to bring joy Christmas night to good girls and boys.
Stockings are hung by the fire. This many stockings were hung up when my sister and her family were visiting over Christmas.
I made sure there was a little fun gift found in each one on Christmas morning.
The tradition is, if you are naughty, Santa will leave a chunk of coal or a rock in your Christmas stocking.
The threat of Santa not leaving you any presents, if you are acting up, kept many children on their best behaviour during the month before Christmas.
This year’s stockings are hung with one of Santa’s elf keeping watch.
Most home here have a tree set up inside and outside decorations to celebrate the season.
Christmas has become so commercialized that a lot of the joy has gone out of it with everyone rushing around trying to find the perfect gift.
At one time to find an orange or candy in your stocking Christmas morning was good enough. Now my age is really showing with the last sentence. 😆
Another Santa I bring out at Christmas was a gift from my brother. I think of this Santa as Father Christmas for he does’t wear the tradition red Santa suit.
Santa comes in all shapes and sizes.
Santa playing hockey.
Santa is known to enter the house by coming down the chimney as his reindeer wait on the roof.
Children will leave cookies and milk out for Santa and carrots for his reindeer.
Location: Prince Edward Island, Canada

*The cover photo is of a fox that used to visit. I digitally added the hat, decorations and text.
There are many Santas and maybe this year it’s your turn to spread Santa joyfulness to family and friends.
If you have the Santa spirit, you will hear, on the night of the 25th, a commotion on the roof and a jolly booming voice calling out to his reindeer,
On Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎅
Thanks you @luigi-the-gnome for your support. 💕
You got me there. No matter how I think I know the stories about Christmas, one comes up that I do not know. In this instance it's the rock that's placed inside the sock when you've been naughty haha. Now I know something new about Christmas. Thanks to you and your lovely post. I like the Father Christmas photo.
Good luck with the draw and good hunt this week for you. I am still hunting as of now 😩
Thanks so much for your kind comment. I’m glad you like Father Christmas and got something new out of my post @gems.and.cookie LOL. I don’t personally know anyone who got a rock or coal in their stocking but it was a good threat by parents to try to keep a naughty child in line.
I will be looking forward to reading your post. 😊
Wonder how many remember all the names, we used to sing rhymes which I no long remember LOL.
Living in a hot country we never had a chimney, the idea was we had to leave milk and cookies at the front door. Don't remember carrots since reindeer were not local animals with plenty of grass outdoors.
Never grew up with stockings, each had one gift under the tree more often than not clothing made by Mom, if you were lucky a little tin of talc powder would accompany the gift.
What made the whole time festive when young was attending church then enjoying a wonderful meal at home as a family.
Have a wonderful time whatever you decide to do, Christmas is no longer the same but the sweet memories remain.
