  1. Regal Cinemas is reportedly launching an unlimited movie-ticket subscription plan this month - Per-month pricing may range from $18 to $24, and the program is expected to launch by the end of July. The plan will be tiered, so that you can pay higher rates for access to any theater in the US, or lower rates for access to a subset of theaters. It is unclear whether monthly payments will be available, or if annual payments will be required.

  2. A vision for the future of Sierra Leone - In this TED talk, Julius Maada Bio talks about his experience overthrowing two corrupt governments in Sierra Leone, relinquishing power, and then returning 2 decades later to become an elected head of state. He also talks about some of his recent programs that are aimed at listening to peoples' needs and developing human capital.

  3. How can Philadelphia business owners thank their clients? Here's some ideas. - Many of these 12 ideas will work anywhere, not just in Philadelphia. Some ideas include sponsoring a town festival, a concert in the park or a local museum (in exchange for free passes), fireworks or a day at a local theme park; Giving out reusable shopping bags with your corporate logo; or making charitable contributions in your clients' names.

  4. Libra Isn’t a Cryptocurrency. It’s a Glimpse of a New Asset Class - Pointing out that an asset that's backed by securities is also a security, Noelle Acheson makes the case that Facebook's Libra is not a cryptocurrency because it lacks decentralization, and it is a security because it is backed by a basket of currencies and short-term government securities. Acheson points out that the Libra Association says it plans to make Libra decentralized, but it's initial deployment will be permissioned, not permissionless.

  5. STEEM How STEEM can fundamentally change the game for Social Media Connections - I don't normally like to include Steem articles about Steem in this series, but I make the occasional exception. This is one such exception. This article talks about the importance of Steem's capability to provide direct access to a content creator's followers. @jarvie, from the @steempeak team points out that influencers who already have large income streams won't be excited by the rewards pool, but they may be excited by the direct links to their audience. When marketing and developing for influencers, perhaps it is better to focus on audience than rewards. (5% of the rewards from this post will go to @jarvie.)

In order to help make Steem the go to place for timely information on diverse topics, I invite you to discuss any of these links in the comments and/or your own response post.

For example, feel free to comment on any or all of these discussion topics:

  • Would you purchase an "all you can eat" movie plan? Would you pay more for access to theaters at the national or international level?

  • What do you think of Julius Maada Bio's vision for the future of Sierra Leone?

  • Do you think the distinction between a security and a cryptocurrency is important for Facebook's Libra?

  • Click through and join the discussion for @jarvie's post.

  • Add your own discussion topic based upon any of these articles
