While they were building it, they began to look at it and the older ones said: "it's not as nice as Solomon's"; because Israel years ago had opened the temple of Solomon and God literally came down in a cloud and everything was filled with his glory and at that time there were many children.
A few years passed and the Babylonians killed the adults and the children were taken captive and the temple was destroyed; they worked as slaves for 70 years. The prophets send them to say that they are going to liberate them and that they will return to Israel, the young people say: "we are going to make the temple" and the old ones say "no matter how much the glory of God does when we were little, it does not compare with this " And the young people fell down and stopped building! fourteen discouraged years and God sends the prophet Haggai who tells them:
"Build the house because the last glory will be greater than the first" the young people said when they heard that word: let's build!
The old people were good people but they stayed in the first glory; the young people got depressed and there Haggai appeared, which means "party", who challenged them to finish the temple of the Lord and finished it in five years.
The last glory will be greater than the first: in the material it is inferior but in the spiritual it is superior! For that temple many years later Christ entered and the last glory was greater than the first!
What is our priority? Work, career, your home? The temple symbolizes our relationship with God, it served so that the Jews would go to worship God. Your life is your temple and it has to serve so that others know God, we are "fragrant smell"; may the Lord bear witness to you, saying, "You brought these people to me."
Our priority is to build a daily relationship with the Lord.
My level of victory is my level of commitment. If there is no commitment, there is no victory. When Jesus was 12 years old he argued with the doctors of the law, when the mother asked him, What are you doing here? He replied: IT IS NECESSARY to be in my Father's business.
Commitment means: "with promise" you tied yourself to your word. Your yes is yes, and you are not no. You give yourself one hundred percent to the project you undertook.
Therefore, it is necessary that we commit ourselves, putting value to our words, because if we fulfill our duty we will return in victory.
We have to stop in action, and for that, reflection is the means, but if "thinking" does not lead us to the decision, it does not work. Hope is to want something to happen, faith is to believe that it will happen and courage is to make it happen. God is going to put your glory and it will be bigger than your best moment!
