I adore water droplets on broccoli. This is purple sprouting, which is great as I keep cutting it and it keeps sprouting. I also use the leaves in stirfries, soups - you name it. Delicious and so good for you!
The grape vines are in leaf. They are such gentle shade providers. We never get any grapes. A lot of people grow them here for autumn colour and shade, particularly on front balconies. Mine just turn yellow - my neighbours have an enviable shade of burgundy. I don't mind the birds get them!
Clearly the compost I got from the garden supplies for the raised beds need some serious adjustment. These butter beans are far too yellow for my liking.
The mandarin is loving life. It gets water every time I turn on the back tap so it'll probably survive the summer. I haven't had luck with mandies yet but this one has good vibes.
My self seeded accidental avocado survived the winter. I really need to repot it and see how it goes. It grew itself in that pot. I don't care what it does. I just love it.
The comfrey is starting to grow up where it's meant to. I missed the last garden meet up so I also have gotu kola and ashwagandwa ready to trade for next time.
I moved the worms behind the chook shed as it's far more shady around there. I've been busy mulching everything and chasing rabbits as usual. It's been great to pick lettuce, broccoli, kale, calendula, fennel and more for salads. It just feels so darn healthy.
The irises are growing around Ganesha. It looks so lovely and green in that bed. Oregano is self seeding everywhere. Sooo much silverbeet - I'm putting HUGE amounts of it in stews and soups. I must make a heap of palak curry and freeze it whilst I have so much. The chooks have been loving it too.
We're still a few weeks off planting tomatoes and a few other things. I didn't plant pumpkin or garlic this year as the harvest is too much to deal with when I'm going away. I have a huge lot of swede to dig up this weekend - roast swede and mushroom gravy for dinner, I reckon. Yum!

You grow ashwaganda? What does it look like? I buy ashwaganda supplements for anxiety, but never knew what it looks like.
Is your oregano the type you can use for cooking or one for decoration? I have the latter and it also spreads like a fire, which I love and bees love too ☺️
I also had a stray avocado that accidentally rooted itself and I potted it up, but it didn’t survive last winter.
!ALIVE
Soooo much oregano - spreads like mad!!!! Wish the thyme would do that!
Next time I'm in the garden I'll take a photo of the ashwagandwa. You actually use the roots. It's a beautiful one for anxiety!
Mind you I'd need a metric ton of it 🤣🤣
Mine too! But apparently it’s not the type that can be used for cooking, which is a shame, but I still love it spreading around, as bees 🐝 love it 😍
Really? I never knew how it looks or how it’s processed for the supplements to be honest. Yes, please do share a picture of it and what you use it for? Or is it just for decoration?

Ahhh, spring photos! Your gardens are wonderful this year. :)) Loved the last photo.
Oh Spring is so amazing in the garden. It's when I want people to visit but everyone's too busy!
I'm excited to see the avocado in the pot. I have one who is very healthy and went out alone, gave us a surprise and now he is very healthy. I live in an apartment and I have to find a place to definitively raise it so that it develops. I want to one day live in a place with a big garden, what I see and read inspires me. 💚💚💚🥂
I'm sure you'll get your dream one day! It was always mine too!
🥂💃💥🎶🎶🎶These words encourage me!!! Thank you !!!
Lovely photos. Fresh salads are SOOOO yummy 😋 I don't grow alot but I got to "garden sit" for a neighbor and they had lots of lettuce and spinach. Its always fun to see the opposite seasons on the other side of the world. We just helped a neighbor split their iris and brought home a bunch to plant.
Oh I have an iris about to flower! I'll be sure to take a flower when it does..
How on earth do you have time to do all that you do?!
I love your avocado too.
because food we grow ourselves, or for those we love, have an unrecognized nutrient: LOVE.
I don't know!!!! I'm overstretched, overstressed and exhausted at the moment.
Everything looks vibrant and thriving!!
Best time of year!
It is spring for you. nice to see the green garden. good luck for all your planting sowing and weeding.take care. greetings :)
