Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

This time is flying by. Seven days ago, I went beer tasting. It was a very sunny day. Then, there were six days of fog and rain; today, it's a sunny day again. And it's #beersaturday, 387 in a row.

Today, I took some time for myself, which for me means I did nothing; 😛
I just put two different beers in the fridge, one German and one Croatian, which I will now, in the evening, be happy to taste and share the experience with you :)

First, a lighter one with less alcohol is needed.

Starfu*ker Pale Ale

Brewed by The Garden Brewery, Zagreb, Croatia, for SPAR Croatia.
Can, 0.44 l, alcohol 4.5% ABV, IBU 28.
It's Pale Ale - American or APA style beer, with fruity notes but less bitterness and more balanced than American IPAs

What do the Master Brewers say?

A light and drinkable beer made from American Citra hops, with subtle notes of grapefruit.

Not many words, hopefully, more taste :)

The beer is golden in color, with an average head that stays for a while. It smells of tropical fruit. It goes down the throat smoothly, developing a pleasant, not too pronounced bitterness and tropical aromas, more mango than citrus.
In the aftertaste, everything disappears quickly, including the hop bitterness.

It is a drinkable and refreshing beer. It is more suitable for summer days because it is light and has less alcohol, but it also suits now, at the end of autumn. It is better than I expected. I would easily and happily drink another one. I bought it in the Spar chain in Rijeka, Croatia. As I go there often, a few more cans will be in my fridge.

And there was one tray left for dinner.
I'll have another slice; pizza always goes well with beer.

Hacker-Pschorr Weissbier

Brewed by Hacker-Pschorr, München, Bavaria, Germany.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.5% ABV, IBU 12.
It's Wheat or Hefeweizen style wheat beer with a distinctive banana and clove yeast character and dry finish.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Our unfiltered Hacker-Pschorr Weissbier is naturally cloudy, full-flavoured and uniquely refreshing. The history of Munich's Hacker-Pschorr goes all the way back to 1417 and even plays a leading role in the foundation of Oktoberfest, when Prince Ludwig I of Bavaria asked them to brew a special beer for his Wedding in 1810.

It has been a while since I last tried wheat beer. As it originates from Bavaria, a traditional place for wheat beer, I expect it to be good and have a distinct banana flavour. 😎

The beer is cloudy and golden, and the head is solid, creamy, and long-lasting. It smells of cloves. A sip goes down the throat smoothly, and I taste a discreet malt sweetness, more pronounced clove, and less banana.
The banana aroma and the slight bitterness of the hops linger in the aftertaste for a while.

The beer is drinkable and refreshing, but I expected more bananas :) 🍌🐒
The brewery is owned by a more prominent company (Paulaner), which is a term and reference for wheat beers. Still, the cans are for the international market, which may make everything more balanced and not too distinctive.
It is available here; maybe some will be left in my fridge.
