The Shado Report: World of Photography

Shado Report WOP.jpg

Welcome readers to my new feature. Coming all the way from Cape Town, South Africa, but reporting on news from all over the Steemit World. I am Shado, the Global Steemit Reporter, bringing you the latest from Steemit group news and updates.

In this news report, we take a look at the World of Photography, @Photocontests. I have been a member of this group for some time now, having entered many of @juliank and some of @claudiaz photo competitions. As a matter of fact, they are the ones that returned me to my photographic routes and made me excited about being a photographer again.

There have been some good posts delivered on Steemit by our members in the Discord channel, which I know becomes lost in the daily tidal waves of posts. So today I would like to share some of the more recent posts and the highlights.

Please note that none of the photos will be shared here. This is to encourage you to visit the links to see what you are missing out on.

@madlenfox is up first with the most recent post Here all drowned in the velvet of night. Not only does it deliver some fantastic night time shots for the StreetPhotography tag, but the words are eloquence itself:

When the night falls, everything changes around. The bustle of the past day recedes, filling the city with peace and tranquility. Illumination and light of street lights create an amazing magical atmosphere, enveloping everything around with soft mystery.

If the photos aren't enough to paint an excellent picture of the photographic skill, the descriptive words most certainly do.

@careassaktart enters an exquisite photo for LandscapePhotography with When The Morning Comes. Walking about like a hobbit in the Shire, collecting mushrooms at 7 in the morning, in this misty field that looks absolutely spectacular.

@photovitamin enters AnimalPhotography with Metamorphosis. While sailing at Danube Delta with the sun trailing the horizon near dusk, some beautiful geese swam idly passed them. The reflection of light is captured so perfectly in relation to the geese.

I needed to include this one from @joanstewart for two reason. Firstly because she is a fellow South African in our @teamsouthafrica group, and secondly because I love this study of trees and flora. This one is titled Trees for Africa - Tree Fern Cyathea dregei. These beautiful images taken near Highmoor Malote Nature Reserve in the Drakensberg shows this South African Tree Fern in all its beauty, and I want to commend Joan for showing our wonderful nature to the rest of the world.

Last but not least is @lymepoet with Panama series: The gringo price in Panama. Using Uber for the first time, lymepoet takes some wonderful photos in Panama for those of us who have never been there. I am ever grateful for these travel photos, since I am pretty sure I will never get to visit Panama myself.

And that is enough for today, as I need to get myself to my nephew's birthday party. I hope you enjoyed this first edition of The Shado Report. Expect some more for posts by #schoolofminnows #teamsouthafrica #tpot and #adsactly, as well as what is happening behind the scenes in the game studios I write for, Antreya Studios and Peahead Games.
