Yesterday, I accomplished something amazing for the first time. Something I never imagined doing, but even with the fear and all the doubts about whether I could do it or not, I went ahead and did it. What would be something so different? Well, I had a meeting with a potential person who will join Hive, as well as a new "Onboard" (which I prefer to call an integrated one) and now that I am taking the fact of being an "Onboarder" (which I also prefer to call an integrator) super seriously, I realized that I need to change the way I approach and help potential people who will join Hive.
This meeting was with a woman, via Google Meet, she lives in the United States and has been in the crypto world since 2019. It may seem silly to talk about this, but for me, who has always been a shy and quiet person, the typical reclusive nerd, who always keeps to himself and has never been one to talk or interact much with people, but, after an approach on Threads (Meta) this person asked me to exchange messages on Instagram and then a meeting to explain about Hive. I thought, damn, what now? Can I handle this?
Yes, I managed to explain the basics of Hive to her. After an hour and a half of conversation, I was able to explain the basics of what Hive is and how it works, what the Hive token is, Hive Power, HBD, stake, L2 tokens, posts, micro blog, payments, where to transfer the Hive token, which brokers accept it, in short, that was the whole first contact and process. I shared my screen and explained everything, talking and with the camera on. My God, I never imagined myself doing this, it was really a great learning experience for me and an experience on what I should do to improve as an integrator.
Even though she may not join Hive, we know how difficult it is for people to join and stay, to build consistency and really participate in the blockchain with the desire and the feeling of growing here. I am happy to have been able to make this video call and explain the doubts of my future (maybe) integrated and for that I am satisfied. Each action of this improves my experience, the wrong points and, with that, I am improving myself for the next attempts to bring new people to Hive. As I always say, everything that happens, good or bad, counts towards growth and I'm happy to see mine happening.

This is great mate and I agree that initial hand holding is very important. I am sure you would be able to onboard but keep the users active is even more important. Being a newbie I know that a mentor is very important to stay active and fast farward the learning. Great work 👍
A mentor is something that really helps those who are just starting out at Hive, it's a lot of information and a lot to get to grips with, so having someone to explain everything really helps! I'll do my best and hopefully I'll be able to integrate more people into Hive!
Thank you for your support and your kind words!
