Hello Dearest Friends Just yesterday, I arrived in the Maremma Toscana area. I had an important morning appointment with a long-time client, with whom I’ve had a working relationship for several years. But, as usual, I took advantage of the little free time I had to visit another place in the province of Grosseto, right in the heart of the Maremma region. I’m talking about Magliano, a place I had already mentioned to the community a few years ago. As I said, since I have this client, I often pass through this town, and I always enjoy taking a walk here. I'm not sure if I had ever told you about the history of this place. For many years, it was under the control of the Aldobrandeschi family, but thanks to the Republic of Siena, these walls that you see in the photos were expanded. In fact, I believe—though this is just my own assumption—that it is currently one of the Tuscan villages with the most complete city walls. At least, that’s what I remember. But the best part—and I was probably very lucky—was that I was able to take a beautiful walk on top of the walls! I got to walk along the patrol path, which I think is always an incredible experience when visiting a fortified town. Unfortunately, it’s not always possible, either because the walls are in poor condition or under restoration. After this amazing experience of walking atop these centuries-old walls, I headed down to the town center for a bit of exploration. Even here, I found some truly unique points of interest. I saw several historic buildings and some very interesting churches. Unfortunately, I couldn’t visit them inside, but I also came across a few old shops that are still standing strong despite the passage of time. I hope the photos I took were inspiring and maybe even gave you an idea for a future trip here! I’ll see you in my next post, which will definitely be next week. Honestly, I’m not sure if there was an entrance fee—I didn’t see anyone, and there were no signs. So, I just walked in! From up there, you even get the chance to enjoy a stunning view that stretches all the way to the sea.
I did enter the only church that was open—it wasn’t anything particularly grand, quite a simple interior—but still, it was an interesting visit.
In the meantime, I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Very quiet and historic place. You can tell there is a lot of tranquility.
Adoro le vecchie Fortezze e paeselli maremmani, la maremma toscana è una delle mie zone preferite sia per bellezza che per il cibo 😍😍
It is a very nice place, mainly because of the behavior of the infrastructure. It involves you little by little. The way you took the pictures is also impressive.
