RE: Squares and square-ishes - hacks for when you need to multiply numbers but your brain doesn't want to.
To find the value ANY square by addition, add that many sequential odd numbers (starting with 1). 1^2=1, 2^2=1+3, 3^2=1+3+5 and goes on forever.

RE: ATMs apparently must have braille instructions, but is this something we want?
My guess is that some liberal mandated the Braille on the ATMs as an accommodation for blind users at ATMs that wouldn't have to be driven up to. Then the drive-up ATMs sprang up…
