Let me preface this by telling you that I do not believe in online dating. I believe that people who have to get a date via meeting unvetted strangers on the internet are in need of someone to speak the truth in love to them about ‘dating’.
First, dating is unbiblical. LOL…Ah…lol…but truth. Show me in the bible where God says date a hundred people and pick a mate. No.
He gave female to male. He gave Eve to Adam. He gave Sarah to Abraham. As you read this, you will hear the repetitive verb…GAVE.
If you’re young, you may not know this important statistic. There are approximately one dozen females for every male. This means that the majority of females will not have a spouse according to U.S. law which denotes one woman for one man til death they do part.
This means that barring instances of divorce and widowhood, a huge number of women were created for something greater than being a wife and mother. Whaaaat? It’s true; the numbers, nor the Word of God lies.
I’m writing this post after reading about a young woman whose lack of self-esteem allowed herself degradation after degradation on a ‘blind date’ with a guy she met online.
I assure you that if you show up everyday on some level, (i.e. a job, the grocery store, afternoon jog), or wherever; you are in position for your Mr. or Miss Right to appear. I argue that you could stay home 24/7, and if God wanted to put the person in your life, they’d show up, even if it was someone making a delivery.
I get a lot of pushback from the online meet-a-mate crowd, who go on way too many dates, that always end in disappointment. In essence, that’s torturous to the human spirit; because for most, marriage is the end-goal of dating.
However, I won’t be the one to convince anyone of something they must learn on their own.
So that’s it. If you’re a guy, the pickin’s are abundant. For women, considering all the factors of married, and/or gay, or males who are non-committal/non-marriage material, the odds are truly not in your court…;+).
That’s not to discourage. With God all things are possible. However, looking for love should never be on one’s to-do list. When it is time, in accordance with God’s Will, GOD will open doors that no man can close. In the meantime, all should pray that He keeps closed all doors that no man should be able to open.
People of all ages, hear ye, hear ye; there’s more to life than finding a mate. If you go looking, I assure you satan will make it easy for you to ‘find’ everything that’s not according to God’s Plan; even if it’s the perfect mate who shows up at the wrong time.
Now, if you’re blessed to have the Gift of LOVE, enjoy it for the now; for it’s purpose…as unto the Lord; for the glory of God.
Best regards.
Peace.
