I'll take the high road

in #running6 years ago (edited)

I'm currently in Scotland, but I'll still fit in some runs. It's a bit more hilly here than at home. I headed up towards Blackford Hill. Some of the paths are more like climbing stairs and I'll admit I walked up some of them. When you get to the top the view is worth it and you can see it's a beautiful day.

Hilltop

I took a fairly random route in the hope it would get me back and eventually found myself on paths I knew. A lot of it was through the woods, so I was watching out for holes and roots. Running down steep hills has its own dangers if you get out of control. In all it was a good run. You can see I did about 900m of climbing. I don't get anything like that at home. If I did this all the time I'd have legs of iron.

Route

Breakfast after the run included some fresh fruit from the garden. They've had plenty of rain here, so some of it is better than ours. I hope to have some raspberries when I get home.

so cool :)

Do you always eat so healthy after a run? I would be craving for several rashers, beans, sausages, fried toast, mushrooms, oh oh oh...! Not forgetting the black pudding!!! YUM.

If only I was joking and I wasn't such a pig :P

I like my cereal. I don't mind a cooked breakfast, but I only tend to have that when I'm at a hotel

Looks like a beautiful landscape to take a run through! Also looks like you had some really nice weather!

It is a magical place and right in the city. I'd love this on my doorstep

One of places still on my bucketlist. Schotland. A bit jealous overhere :)

Fantastic! Make sure you go to holyrood park and climb to the top of arthur's seat. great views from there as well as the crags (the cliffs before it). Also the road that sits just beneath the cliffs is a great walk .. and is called 'the radical road' which tickles me. :)

I've been up there before. We're usually up here at least once a year to visit family. I love Edinburgh.

Nice! It's a great place :)

It's also bloody windy, but the view is worth it.

I love your breakfast and that it is fresh from the garden. I am more a coffee person in the morning, but would be happy to find that breakfast on my table :D

Great food, great plains...All the more reason to love Scotland

Looks like a great run!

Bro, Scotland is freaking amazing. I did the west highland way trail a few years back, one of my favorite hikes I have ever done! If you find yourself having the time or even like hiking, Scotland got so many great places for that:) By the way, almost 7km running is pretty good, took me a while to get over 4 km lol. 40464227_2457421747817725_7305258347043749888_n.jpg

I won't have much time for hiking on this trip, but I'll be back for sure

Edinburgh is a beautiful city! Enjoy it, and wow looks like you're blessed with the sunshine! Scotland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world... when its sunny! :)

Do are doing a right thing. Running and taking healthy meal. Btw the scenery of Scotland is amazingly beautiful!

Great view. Is it a monument of some sorts at the top?

It's just a survey point

A healthy morning! Congratulations :)
And what a gorgeous surrounding!
