Hello Hello Hivians
Today we are going down to the seashore, to Seafield Beach in Kirkcaldy in Scotland 🏴
A breath of fresh air was what was needed.
We have been having some rough weather and our normal way to the beach was blocked!
It does not really matter where you are on this side of town you can see the football ground as it sits atop a hill.
That was us going through some waste land on our 60 second short cut to the beach.
This would take us parallel to the wee burn and onto the sandy beach.
You can see that the wee burn or stream, now that is a great word to add to talk about in my new podcast Transatlantic Accents: A Comedy Podcast
Sorry shameless plug here 🤣 for our latest episode 👇 👟 by the way if there are any Nigerian 🇳🇬 readers, I would love if you listened and answered the question about shoes for me... A wee prize I am sure would find it's way to you!
So much for the sand and so much for it being a short cut! The winds and high tides has swept sand away and brought shitloads of debris all over the place!
Do you know what all the massive big blocks are?
No way through!
We just kept walking along the wasteland until finding a suitable embarkation point, what a fancy word for a Wednesday!
On to the beach we made it!
We there around lunch time and the light cloud and sky made for some dramatic shots, it is not all about bright blue skies I have found!
To our right side was a Morrison's supermarket, they have a good view if they want to comeout for a smoke. Do you know we say fag for cigarette in the UK, now that is another banger of a word for the podcast!
I love the beach at this time of year as it is only generally dogwalkers and beachcombers that are using it!
So while I was busy taking pictures ...
Mrs T was busy looking down the way at things...
Do you know what the writing would have said?
I am pretty sure I know the first word as it is where we live!
And out came the pottery shards and sea glass...
If you know me, then you will know that blue is my favourite colour so of course I just love this blue seaglass!
But a close second is my love for Orange
Actually we got lots and lots of pottery shards
I know that @mipiano has a collectibles channel so shall make a proper post for including there..
Meanwhile on we go with our walk!
I was playing in the water but got summoned back by Mrs T.
Actually, you can see a wall in that picture that was uncovered by the recent storms!
Can you see a wee black blob in the water? It is a guy sitting on his surfboard.
I do have better pics on my camera but this post is all with Mrs T's phone so that is what you are getting!
It was time to get to the beach on the town side as I was getting peckish!
I always get in the mood for shellfish when I am on the beach, I hope I eat some for lunch!!!
WE made it across the burn
I will leave you with the power of nature.
That log was wedged in the seawall, it must have been by the recent storms as the water normally never gets that high, certainly not to upend a log like that!
This post is of course for #wednesdaywalk which was started by the wonderful @tattoodjay.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!

Thanks Katy, it was a fun walk
Are those what comes ashore
Some of it yes from towns up and down the coast and even across the water from Edinburgh!
It must be pretty tough cleaning up
Oh yes it can be, or they just leave it!
Yeah I guess so

Love those dramatic skies! Enjoyed learning a few weird new words, looks like a tough but awesome walk. 😀
Yeah I love the skies at this time of year, the cold uff I can't be doing with .. oh what words may I ask?
Mainly 'wee burn',never heard that before, not around here.
Aha thank you, I actually talked about burns and streams and creeks on tonights podcast!
the beach location is very good. I think the people who visit there are very pleasant.
I thinks so too :)
Sorry for short comments this week I have a lot going on and wont keep up if I try to to do longer replies this week
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
No worries, hope things calm down for you.
I hope so as well did blood and genetic tests today now I sit and wait till the end of the month and see the Dr and see whats next
Ah well fingers crossed it is all good news Jay
Thanks appreciated
I Iove a good walk especially when is by the sea. You took nice pictures too, they are very lovely indeed
Thank you, yes it is fun to walk by the sea!
❤️❤️❤️ yes I know and I feel like doing so
Oh I hope you can get out for a walk by the sea soon!
Yeah I wish to also.
Thanks
I'm not surprised that you like the beach, dear friend @tengolotodo, since the tranquility there allows you to enjoy and rest from the bustling noises of the city.
Excellent shots, beautiful photographs, thank you very much for sharing with us
have a beautiful afternoon
Thank you so much my friend @jlufer Yes it is peaceful and tranquil I agree! you have got why I like it.
I could watch water pictures all day long thank you for visiting.
Wow, that is pretty impressive. It looks like those were definitely some powerful storms. We have been getting ice off and on here today. It's quite nasty out, but nothing like you had there.
Oh ice, darn we have only had a frost once this autumn but I am sure more cold weather is on its way. Yes some powerful winds the last two storms, and we got off lightly!
We are getting hammered right now with a lot of rain, lightning and thunder.
Ouch, that is what I miss when are back in Florida, the tropical rain thunder and lightning, the UK gets it so very very rarely.
Oh yeah, that kind of stinks. Rain without a little light show now and then is kind of boring. I love getting at least one or two good storms each year.
thunder and lightning is dramatic and makes for mental pics and videos!
Nice walk - and nice finds. I know what the blocks are as I have seen them on other beaches, especially in the far north - but will let some others guess what they are for.

what a beautiful beach must be so refreshing walking there
Sorry for short comments this week I have a lot going on and wont keep up if I try to to do longer replies this week
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
Bracing in winter time Jay, but refreshing any day yes!
Hope things are getting better.
Beautiful beach and the sky awesome. Great finds of glass and pottery pieces. That would be a cool collection
Yeah often we find more glass than pottery, but that walk it was more pottery, I think the high seas and winds exposed more.
What a delightful beach day! 😊 If you're wondering about the big blocks, they're probably part of coastal defenses, like sea walls or barriers to protect against erosion. And, hey, "embarkation point" does sound fancy for a Wednesday adventure! Enjoyed the beachcombing and the vibrant pottery shards. Can't wait for the podcast episode, and I'm curious about the mystery writing on the beach. 🌊🏖️
Defenses yes but they were from the second world war. We were paranoid about being invaded from sea by the Germans, so have massive concrete blocks all the place to stop tanks and armoured vehicles being able to drive etc.
Hehe it is always a fun wee walk going there, thank you so much and have a terrrific Thursday.
Being an Edinburgh boy I am duty bound to mention the best thing in your pics, is being able to see across to Lothian 😆😆😆
hehe I just knew you would be saying something along these lines lol!
The sky is looking magical. Mrs. T Phone's camera has worked fine.
I wanna know what is sea glass? Is it something natural?
And what about pottery shards?

Well glass from broken bottles etc that is on the coast will get its sharp edges worn away and become smooth and changes transparancy too, so we call it see glass. Well pottery shards that is the name of broken pottery from plates and tiles etc, if you are lucky you can find from the Roman times or even before.
Thanks so much Amber and have a superb weekend!
And how would we know that it is that old?
Research we know what pottery looks like from periods in history.
O.O
Love the solitude of the beach. I'd take morning walks daily if I'd have something similar close to where I live!
I have always lived close to the sea no matter what county I am in the world. It keeps me sane!
That's amazing! I have no doubt it has a high influence on mental well-being at least.
Yessss some people might like mountains and forests etc which are cool, but give me the ocean crashing on waves and the smell of the salt air and I am a happy puppy.
So you travel gabriela where do you tend to prefer travelling to?
Indeed. I am a mountain person and will always be, but I would lie saying that I don't miss the SEA vitamin from time to time!
Anywhere possible. More often in my country (Romania) but in less known parts of it, and from time to time in foreign countries. As long as it's travel activity.. it makes me happy no matter what the country is :)
I am on your blog now, so get your mountains, Romania is a cool country, I have been there a few times and we have the son of perhaps your greatest footballer Hagi in my club inscotland Rangers.
I see you created a festival community too, that is well cool as we have arguably the most famous festivals in the World, in the month long Edinburgh festivals in the summer.
That's two exciting news to hear!
Awe, blue is my favorite color as well! Amazing and peaceful walk! I found very interesting the things you saw there, they made me think for a while in thousands of years of stories!! Great pictures!
Great minds think alike!
I love seeing pottery and things, because you never know the history. Even the way the coastline changes it takes thousands of years, what was life like then, I am a great one for wondering! Thank you and have a great day.
Woow man, this walk looks pretty interesting, I see you got to pick some fun and interesting things on the beach, you have got some pretty pictures taken, I will try to visit there when I come around, thanks for sharing tengo…
#dreemerforlife
What a lovely day you had. I also love picking up shells when I go to the beach. Although I used to think they were oyster shells? Are they?
I didn't listen to the podcast but perhaps I'll find time to do so tomorrow if I don't killed my procrastination.
You always take lovely pictures.
The gray skies and the high waters taking away the sand make it seem a bit gloomy, but, as always nature is the most relaxing and rejuvenating place to be. Great photos with the wife's phone.
See, as a surfer I looked at the below photo and thought - hey! That almost looks surfable - if only it was a foot bigger! And lo! Look at that - a surfer has the same idea!
Love shards of pottery that wash up on British beaches. That' shistory right there. My hubs loves watching youtube vids of mudlarking in the thames.
Yeah it was just a little too shallow I think!
As does Mrs T!
Weirdos 😂
haha indeed
