I want you to stay with me on this one folks, it might get a little long and a little deep, but I really need you all to understand where I'm coming from.
The thing with steemit is that it is such a fantastic place to come and get things off your chest. I fist heard about steemit almost 18 months ago now and joined up pretty much straight after. It's been an incredible journey with some amazing highs and I wouldnt change a thing.
Im sure a wiser person than me once said "YOU COME FOR THE REWARDS, BUT YOU STAY FOR THE COMMUNITY". How very true this statement has become.
I joined steemit knowing that there was a growing group of precious metal stackers trying to get together. The group became #steemsilvergold and being the great group they were, they welcomed me in "arms wide open". Notice how I said "group" and not community, because back then, that's all we were. We were a group of individuals looking to help each other out any way we could. We interacted and shared ideas, knowledge and gave out fractions of $ as upvotes. Heck I can remember when seeing $0.10 payout would get me excited and thinking I was a big time player.
Now since finding my steemit home; steemsilvergold, I've also joined a few more communities - #thealliance, #teamwales.... etc and I encourage everyone to find thier own community as this will really make your #steemit journey a much greater experience.
Any how, I digress....... Our merry band of individuals quickly realised that by helping each other and putting the group before ourselves we could achieve so much more and that's the moment we went from a group to a community.
Putting the interests of the larger collective above the benefits to our self meant that EVERYONE grew. Now this was the point where steemsilvergold had evolved in to a true community.
It did not matter how much or how little you could give, but the fact that everyone did! We were small, a community of maybe 50 dedicated stackers working together to reach our goals.
We set up, or at least we thought we set up our own voting bot!!! We live and learn. We built another bot and learnt from our mistakes. Our little bot, @ssg-community, grew in to a power house and looked after her members. All because her members looked after her.
SO THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOU
